Memorial Day Ceremony at Roger D. Songe Veterans Memorial Park

On Memorial Day, the Houma Terrebonne Marine Corps League Det 475 and the PNP Norma A. Liner Unit of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary were honored to gather with our community for a solemn Memorial Day Ceremony, remembering the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our Nation.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to HTV for covering our ceremony and helping share this important tribute with our community.

Thank you to the members of the Houma Terrebonne Marine Corps League Det 475, the PNP Norma A. Liner Unit of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary, and the Brothers in Blue MC, Louisiana "Dirty South" Chapter who participated and helped make this ceremony meaningful and respectful.

We also sincerely thank the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office for providing traffic control and helping keep everyone safe, and the Sheriff Tim Soignet for leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

A special thank you to Brianna Brunet for her beautiful singing of the National Anthem. Her voice added a powerful and moving touch to the ceremony.

To the members of the public who came out to stand with us, thank you. Your presence matters. Together, we remembered, we honored, and we carried forward the legacy of our fallen service members.

May we never forget the cost of freedom.
🇺🇸 Semper Fidelis.

This Memorial Day, the members of Houma-Terrebonne Marine Corps League Detachment #475 stand united in remembrance of the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation.

Today is more than the beginning of summer. It is a solemn day of reflection and gratitude for the heroes who answered the call of duty and never returned home. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy each day, and their memory will forever remain in the hearts of grateful Americans.

As Marines, veterans, families, and patriots, we honor those who carried the burden of freedom with courage, honor, and unwavering commitment to their fellow Americans. We also remember the Gold Star families whose strength and sacrifice continue long after the battle ends.

From our Detachment family to yours, we ask everyone to pause today and remember the true meaning of Memorial Day.

🇺🇸 Forever remembered.
🇺🇸 Forever honored.
🇺🇸 Semper Fidelis.

🇺🇸 This past Saturday morning, members of the Houma Terrebonne Marine Corps League Detachment #475 rolled up their sleeves once again in support of our local veterans community at the Roger D. Songe Veterans Memorial Park.

A huge thank you to members Dustin Bergeron, Gavin Porche, Eugene Pete, and Sammy Marcel for volunteering their time and hard work to improve the park by laying new cement surrounding the Memorial Bell monument. 🛠️🪖

Projects like these help preserve and enhance a place that stands as a lasting tribute to the veterans of Terrebonne Parish. It may have started as “just a little concrete work,” but every shovel, wheelbarrow, and sweat-soaked Saturday morning helps keep this park looking sharp and worthy of those it honors.

The Marine Corps League remains committed to supporting our veterans, our community, and the memorials that tell their stories. Outstanding job, gentlemen. Semper Fi! 🇺🇸

Happy Mother’s Day from the Houma-Terrebonne Marine Corps League Detachment #475 family! 🌷❤️
Today we honor the mothers, grandmothers, military moms, wives, daughters, and mother figures whose love, sacrifice, support, and strength help hold our families, communities, and Veterans together.
Behind so many Marines and Veterans are women who stood strong through deployments, long nights, worry, prayers, celebrations, and every challenge life placed in the path. Their love became the steady compass that guided generations forward.
Here in our bayou community, we are blessed with incredible women who serve others with compassionate hearts, whether through family, faith, volunteer work, community service, or support for our Veterans and Marines.
Today, we simply want to say thank you.
Thank you for the hugs, the prayers, the meals, the advice, the patience, the strength, and the unconditional love that never quits.
From all of us at Houma-Terrebonne Marine Corps League Detachment #475, we wish you a beautiful and blessed Mother’s Day filled with love, family, laughter, and appreciation.
Semper Fidelis and Happy Mother’s Day! ❤️💛

Happy Mothers Day

Today, we honor the strength, sacrifice, love, and unwavering devotion of mothers everywhere — especially the incredible mothers who have served, supported, and stood beside Marines and veterans through every challenge and triumph.

Your courage shapes families, communities, and future generations. Thank you for the countless sacrifices, the endless encouragement, and the unconditional love you give every day.

From all of us in the Marine Corps League, we salute you.

Happy Mother’s Day. Semper Fi. 🇺🇸🌹

🦞⚠️ AFTER ACTION REPORT: CRAWFISH BOIL BATTLE ⚠️🦞
Well… well… well…
It appears the Air Force has officially won the Battle of the Boil-Off.
Yes, we said it. Go ahead and screenshot it. It may never happen again.
As agreed…
Marines honor their bets.
So here we are… proudly wearing the opposing team’s shirt…
because unlike some branches, we don’t disappear when it’s time to pay up.
Now let’s be clear…
This was not defeat.
This was a temporary, highly suspicious, possibly luck-based anomaly in the timeline.
We are currently conducting a full investigation into:
• Possible use of “precision seasoning technology” ✈️
• Strategic deployment of butter reserves
• And whether the Air Force had prior intel on the crawfish
Meanwhile…
🦅 The Air Force can enjoy their moment.
Take pictures. Frame it. Tell your grandkids.
Because next year?
We’re coming back like Marines do:
louder, hungrier, and slightly more offended.
And for the record…
Wearing this shirt doesn’t hurt our pride…
it just adds fuel to the fire.
Semper Fi 😎🔥
