Good luck to all our athletes on a great school year. This year's scholarship series will start earlier (during the spring season) and we will include a girls division this year well. If you or anyone you know is interested in sponsoring, please feel free to reach out at anytime. Bayou Futures Foundation is a non profit organization and I can provide the necessary documentation for tax purposes. We will be expanding the courses this year AS WELL AS including a simulator round with The Bunker.

Our first year was a success. All the boys seemed to enjoy the tournament series and I look forward to the years to come. There are a lot of people to thank that helped make this possible especially in such a short period of time. It started with an idea and a generous donation by Mr Wayne Ledet of the Houma Golf Club. Joseph Waitz, III (Waitz and Downer) helped get the nonprofit paperwork filed and approved in record time. Tommy Meyer, Josh Fullilove (Bayou Swing Lab), and Pete Benoit for donating lunch. Michael and Angela Blanchard for donating which paid for the trophies. And Wayne Ledet again for donating the scholarship funds. Bayou Country Club, Tidelands Golf Course, and Houma Golf Club for working with us. Thank you all again. The Future is bright

Well, Mother Nature won again. We were able to play a very exciting 12 holes before having to call it. Gavin Bourg and Grant Ledet were leading the day. We also had the 2 top points leaders Brock and Buddy going back and forth until the end. Unfortunately we had to make a decision as the course was unplayable. The winner of Gavin and Grant would’ve come in 3rd overall so splitting the points would not have worked. They both decided to go have a closest to the hole shootout when the weather slacked off with Grant coming out ahead. So for the inaugural Bayou Futures Foundation Scholarship Series, I’d like to congratulate Buddy Fonseca on 1st place, Brock Benoit on 2nd, and Grant Ledet on 3rd.

Mr Wayne and his crew are doing an amazing job cleaning up the course and we will be able to play tomorrow after all. We will push the tee times back a few hours but will get it in. Unfortunately we had a couple withdrawals but still have a great field of players. Good luck to everyone.

I hope everyone made it though this morning’s weather. Houma Golf Course suffered some wind damage and excessive water. They are working on the course to attempt to make it playable. I will make a decision tomorrow whether or not we can move forward. Another option would be later in the week giving them enough time to clean up. Stay tuned for updates.

Final Round Tee Times. The 1st title is still up for grabs. There are several in the hunt for the championship. Like always, snacks and water will be provided on the course and lunch will be served for the golfers after the round. TROPHIES and SCHOLARSHIP CHECKS will be issued upon the conclusion.
