Welcome to the informational website for the Copper Country Moms! Copper Country Moms is based in the Houghton and Keweenaw counties of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Copper Country Moms is a support group for Moms and Dads. Our group offers a wide range of activities for parents and their kids, including mon

thly meetings with interesting speakers and topics for discussion, get-together at local playgrounds, special outings for mothers and children, holiday activities, and service projects benefiting the local community. In addition, the group sponsors special “activity groups” that bring together members with similar interests. Typical activity groups include playgroups for preschoolers, a book group, kid tours, lunch get-togethers, arts and crafts activities, and a monthly Moms Night Out. Our group believes that mothers need a support group that understands our special needs. So most of our activities take place during the day, when we generally need support the most. Also, because we are here to support each other, children are welcome at almost all of our activities.

Bridgefest Announces New Dates for 2026🎆
June 11–14, 2026 {weekend before Father's Day Weekend}

The Bridgefest Committee, in collaboration with leadership from both cities and the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce, is announcing a new date for Bridgefest 2026. This decision was not made lightly and follows thoughtful discussions among city leaders and the committee about the challenges of hosting the event on its traditional weekend. 🎆Bridgefest will now take place June 11–14, 2026. The change also coincides with the introduction of a new event scheduled for the same weekend as Bridgefest over the next two years.

Bridgefest honors the Portage Lake Lift Bridge and celebrates the strong connection between our two cities. More than just a festival, it’s a cherished, family-friendly tradition that reflects our community’s heart and identity. Each year, Bridgefest is a way to give back to the people who support our area year-round and to kick off the summer together as a community.

While a date change presents challenges, the Bridgefest Committee remains committed to upholding the excellence, consistency, and community pride that have defined this celebration for decades. Together, we will continue to honor the spirit of Bridgefest and the unity it represents for generations to come.
