We put the same twelve questions to all ten states with established Gray Wolf populations, scored against their own published documents. This is every grade in every category, side by side.

The same split shows up down the board. The four lowest-scoring states all do better on transparency than on humane and ethical treatment. They may tell us what they are doing, but that doesn’t excuse the policies.

Science is the weakest column of the three: six of the ten scored C− or lower, and no state beat an A−.

Idaho, Montana and Wyoming — the three that already write their own rules for "managing" wolves — are the three lowest.

The Trump administration has halted work on a barrier system designed to keep invasive carp out of the Great Lakes.

This work stoppage occurred as juvenile invasive carp were discovered closer to Lake Michigan than ever before.

Today POTUS listened intently to fairy tales from ranchers and hunters, and signed an Executive Order aimed at protecting cattle from the Big Bad Wolf. Here's the truth about cattle deaths in a neat and tidy image. Thank you to the Wolf Conservation Center for the graphic and the excellent science behind it.

Yup. Bad weather kills way more cattle than wolves do. Why not an Executive Order against blizzards, tornadoes, and severe thunderstorms?
