One field FILLED with love.

Tomorrow night, the Cutter Morning Star Eagles and Jessieville Lions will meet on the football field wearing a color that means so much to both communities.

Here at CMS, we will go gold in loving memory of London Griffin, our forever Eagle. Our visitors from Jessieville will go “Gold for Savvy,” surrounding their sweet little Lion with love as she bravely faces her own battle.

To Savvy, her family, and our Jessieville neighbors: the Cutter Morning Star Alumni Association stands with you. We know how deeply a community loves its children, and we welcome you with open hearts. We will be wearing our gold for your girl, too.

At 6 p.m., before the 7 p.m. kickoff, Mike Glisson will present London’s family with the Adam Brown Award, honoring her courage and the lasting mark she has left on our hearts. Kevin Hood, CMS alumna, will also present a special plaque from Eareckson Air Station on Shemya Island, Alaska, a reminder that the love for London reaches far beyond our community.

We invite Eagles and Lions alike to wear their brightest gold attire, bring a sign of encouragement, and help surround these families with love. As we remember London and cheer Savvy on, may both families feel how many people are standing beside them.

Tomorrow, gold will carry our remembrance, our hope, and our love from one school family to another.

Before the Homecoming game, we will gather to celebrate the life and legacy of 𝙇𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙣 𝙂𝙧𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙣, our forever Eagle.

Mike Glisson will present London’s family with the Adam Brown Award. Adam Brown was a decorated Navy SEAL, and hometown hero whose story continues to inspire courage, perseverance, and service to others. This year, honoring London brings that legacy close to our hearts as we remember the courage she showed and the love she inspired throughout our community.

CMS alumna Kevin Hood will also present the family with a plaque from Eareckson Air Station on Shemya Island, Alaska. A tribute that has traveled thousands of miles to honor a young life that touched so many hearts.

Wear your 🅱🅴🆂🆃 🅶🅾🅻🅳 outfit in honor of London and her heavenly promotion. Bring a sign supporting her family, and help us surround them with love as we remember London’s humor, courage, and beautiful spark.

Channel 7 News will be covering the award presentation. CMSAA will giving away glow sticks, Warmies, T-shirts, discount passes to area attractions, and more. London lit up our lives. Let’s help her light keep shining.

Whether you graduated last year or decades ago, we want 𝐘𝐎𝐔 there! Grab your former classmates, bring your best smile and come show everyone that Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle!

We can hardly wait to celebrate this year’s Grand Marshal, Carolyn Bissell! Carolyn has been such a special part of the CMS family, and we hope our alumni and community will come out in a BIG way to cheer her on.

Bring candy or beads to toss, make a sign, wear your Eagle gear, or simply come ready to wave and have fun. It’s less than an hour of your day, but it’s the kind of memory that lasts a lifetime.

Today, the Sentinel-Record shared London Griffin’s story, and we are incredibly grateful to see this remarkable young lady and her journey recognized by our community.

For the Cutter-Morning Star Alumni Association, London’s story is deeply personal.

When the CMSAA was originally formed in 2020, the pandemic prevented the organization from truly getting off the ground. When a new board came together in 2025 with the goal of rejuvenating CMSAA, one of the very first missions the new VP brought before the board was supporting London and her family.

London’s silent auction and bone marrow donor drive became the first major event of the newly rejuvenated CMSAA.

In many ways, loving on London and her family helped show us exactly what we wanted this organization to be: alumni coming together to take care of our own, strengthen our school family, and show up when members of our community need us most.

Since then, it has been an incredible honor to walk alongside London and her family through this journey. Their willingness to trust us, to allow us into such a difficult and deeply personal season of their lives, and to allow our CMSAA family to love on them is something we will never take for granted.

London will always hold an incredibly special place in the heart and history of the CMS Alumni Association. She has brought people together, inspired people to register as potential bone marrow donors, and reminded all of us just how powerful a community can be when it rallies around one of its own.

And we are still right here.

We encourage everyone to read the Sentinel-Record’s article and learn more about this extraordinary young lady, her family, and the journey they continue to face.

London Griffin’s family has shared a heartbreaking update. London is on a ventilator, her liver is failing, and her doctors have told her family that there may be nothing more they can do. Her parents are facing conversations and decisions no one should ever have to face.

Please pray for London. Pray for healing, comfort and peace. Pray for her parents, Ben and Whitney, her siblings, and everyone who loves this precious girl. When words fail us, we can still hold this family close in prayer and love.

London is part of the heart of our CMS family. Both her mom and dad are Cutter-Morning Star alumni, and Ben’s family has roots at CMS that stretch across generations. These are our classmates, our neighbors and our friends. Their little girl is our little girl to love and support.
