Food went quick tonight 76 meals this evening.
In less than 30 minutes we were completely out of food. Cookies were another big hit tonight.

This next week we will be passing out sleeping bags and some clothes and socks that were donated to us. Looking for some extra help this next Thursday, Oct 1st. Message us if you can help us out.

Few prayer requests tonight:

Austin who I mentioned I believe 2 weeks ago he showed up tonight to help us. He is still on the streets but doing better than he was 2 weeks ago. Austin will not take a meal from us until he knows everyone around us has gotten a meal. We make him promise us that he will eat that meal and not give it away. He is such a nice guy who needs a few extra prayers.

Please remember another friend that usually shows up to receive a meal. His wife was there tonight and told us he is in the hospital after having a heart attack. He will be having surgery real soon. They have a small apartment near the bus station in Asheville. I cant recall his name but God knows!

I want to thank our dear friends / volunteers tonight who always come out to help us plate the food. I had a burden these past few days and I mentioned it to them to help me pray about it. Margie immediately started praying about the burden as soon as I finished telling them about it. I’m Blessed with wonderful friends that have chosen to come help us every week.

Sometimes it is all about the cookies! Tonight our homeless friends were ready for the cookies. They know that we always bring plenty of them each week we add more cookies.

Funny how something so simple as a cookie can make someone feel so much better. We also served chicken soft tacos and rice this evening in less than 30 minutes we were out of plates.

Prayer request:
Tonight I met a man named Kenny he immediately needed to talk. He told me his whole life story in a few moments that we were there. He asked if we could pray for him. Pray for him to get back on his feet and be able to see his family and a new grandbaby.

Pray for the young man that was late coming to get a free meal. We had ran out. That always breaks me when the food is gone and someone has to leave hungry. We try to keep something extra but this time I had nothing else to give out. I’m pretty sure someone shared their meal with him.

Pray for our friends, family and people we don’t even know that continues to support Mission Sheds. We are truly Blessed and appreciate everyone that has been a part of helping our Mission.

Tonight we had 2 special volunteers to help Mission Sheds. One problem they keep eating the cookies and the chips. I believe it was Benton and Ryder!

We had a very quiet evening while we were passing food out this evening.
Lots of new faces and a few familiar faces that we haven’t seen in awhile.
109 meals were handed out tonight. Hot dogs, baked beans, chips and cookies seems to be a favorite meal. What we take for granted a simple meal like hot dogs is a wonderful supper for our homeless friends and others who may just need help with a free meal.

Prayer request:
Please say a special prayer for Austin this week. Austin has only been on the streets for 3 weeks. He told Ed his story. He has a place to go but just needs to clear his mind. He wouldn’t take a meal till he knew everyone else had a chance to get a meal. Ed kept him a plate and handed it to him as we were ready to leave. Ed and Austin said a prayer together and Austin’s hand was in the air as he was praising God.

Also please Pray for Lynne. He has numerous things going on right now and just needs extra prayers.

Last request pray for Benton and Ryder. I explained to them today what we would be doing this evening and their little minds went to work. I explained that this people were hungry and had no money to buy food. Ryder looked at me and said “that’s sad Nana”. They were both so excited to go with us tonight.

Please remember all our homeless. Stop and hand them a water or even just a pack of crackers. They are always needing water if nothing else.

Hugs and $2.00 tonight!

Great night tonight 108 meals were handed out. Boston Butt, mashed potatoes, gravy, pinto beans and a cookie.

Ed and I received hugs numerous times and someone handed us $2.00 and wouldn’t accept no. We didn’t want to take the money but we did. Pretty sure that’s was the only money he had but he was happy to be able to give us something.

The hugs came from a young man named Izzy.
He was so happy and told us that he would like to be able to have a mission one day soon. He hugged us with everything he had. Nice young man.

My other hug was from a lady that we fed. She came up to me and ask if I made the Boston Butt.
I told her that I did make it. She said can I just Hug you and before i had a chance she gave me a big hug while thanking me for the Boston Butt.

Prayer request:
Please pray for this hot weather we’re having. Everyone was so hot tonight and they looked drained.

Pray for help for these folks that are on the streets and those who have an apartment. They need help financially and mentally. They are struggling in so many ways.

Please if you see one of the homeless stop and hand them a water or maybe a snack of some kind. One man told us tonight he hadn’t ate in 2 days. Just don’t like to see anyone hungry or thirsty.
