Hugs and $2.00 tonight!

Great night tonight 108 meals were handed out. Boston Butt, mashed potatoes, gravy, pinto beans and a cookie.

Ed and I received hugs numerous times and someone handed us $2.00 and wouldn’t accept no. We didn’t want to take the money but we did. Pretty sure that’s was the only money he had but he was happy to be able to give us something.

The hugs came from a young man named Izzy.
He was so happy and told us that he would like to be able to have a mission one day soon. He hugged us with everything he had. Nice young man.

My other hug was from a lady that we fed. She came up to me and ask if I made the Boston Butt.
I told her that I did make it. She said can I just Hug you and before i had a chance she gave me a big hug while thanking me for the Boston Butt.

Prayer request:
Please pray for this hot weather we’re having. Everyone was so hot tonight and they looked drained.

Pray for help for these folks that are on the streets and those who have an apartment. They need help financially and mentally. They are struggling in so many ways.

Please if you see one of the homeless stop and hand them a water or maybe a snack of some kind. One man told us tonight he hadn’t ate in 2 days. Just don’t like to see anyone hungry or thirsty.

Blessed,
Barbie

Feeding tonight happened quick in less than 40 minutes 86 meals were handed out in Asheville.

We pulled in and everyone was lined up ready for a meal. Homemade sloppy joes, macaroni salad, chips and a cookie. They do love their cookies.

Spring Creek we handed out 17 meals. Total of 103 meals this evening. I believed God multiplied my food this afternoon. I was hoping to get 80 to 90 meals but God knew We needed more!

It was a pretty quiet evening. We were able to see quite a few folks that we have been feeding for awhile now. That’s always a Blessing to know they are doing ok.

Prayer request tonight:

Gerald is a young man who has the most handsome smile and sweet personality he is homeless. He told us he is going into the recovery program first thing in the morning. Please pray for him to finish the program and make his life much better.

Pray for our volunteers who come every Thursday to help us plate the food and most times help us load the truck. We are Blessed to have Rebekah, Mary Jo, Dave and Margie as our volunteers. They all have such a giving heart. ❤️

Pray for Ed for he is always there with me helping where ever he can. He is the prayer warrior for these folks who are in need of someone to listen.

Proud to say: We are on a Mission from god!

This evening we Started with 90 meals. The meal was a Barbecue chicken sandwich, green beans, chips and a cookie. This week some of the chicken was donated to us. We are very thankful when we receive donations like that it helps us keep the meal cost lower. The meal cost was $1.56 each.

13 of these meal went to our Spring Creek Community.

77 meals were passed out in Asheville in Less than 30 minutes. Most of the meals that were handed out were for the homeless a few of them were for ones that lived near by.

Every week we feed many different kind of people. Some homeless, some with apartments and some that just drive by. No questions asked anyone is welcome to a free meal.

Prayer request this week:

Homeless man (Tim) needs extra prayers. Tim was intoxicated tonight he could barely walk. We were so afraid that he would fall. We asked Tim if he wanted a meal his words were “No I just want to get high”. That’s the sad part of what we do knowing that sometimes no matter how hard we try to help these folks they just don’t want the help. Choosing drugs and alcohol over food and a better way of life. Heartbreaking ❤️‍🩹

Please remember 2 young ladies not sure of their names. Both of these ladies are pregnant and living on the streets. One of the ladies is about 8 months while the other lady is maybe 3 months. Let’s Pray that they get the medical needs and that they are drug free. These babies deserve better than what they are getting ready to be born into.

Thanks for reading this long post and please keep Mission Sheds in your prayers too! We need prayers everyday. Winter will be getting here real soon. We need to start preparing for the needs before cold weather sets in.

Love y’all,
Barbie

PLACING SHELTERS FOR PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR HOMES TO HELENE. AT MISSION SHEDS WE ARE HELPING KEEP GODS PEOPLE WARM

08/14/2026

Today we did things a little different. Mission Sheds fed lunch instead of supper. We handed out 60 hot dog plates around noon today in Asheville. Everyone seemed to be happy with 2 hot dogs, fruit cup and cookies. It’s kinda funny we were the ones handing out the food and trying to Bless others but like always we are the ones who got the Blessing. Our homeless friends were very thankful today. I received fist bumps and our friend Damascus gave hugs.

Let’s continue praying for the homeless. They do need as many prayers as we can get out. Pray for their safety, Pray for their families and Pray that these folks can get their life straightened out.

Today we witnessed a young lady who was definitely on some kind of drugs. She had no clue where she was or even how to take a free plate of food. It was truly sad she had no shoes just bare feet on the hot pavement. She couldn’t tell me her name. So just help us by praying for her. God know who she is.

Thanks to Rebekah, Jordyn, Emily, Madi Grace and Ryder for coming out with me today. Always feels good when we have extra people to help us.

Rain didn’t stop us tonight. Little wet but we were still able to hand out 75 meals this evening.
Tonight’s meal was 2 chicken soft tacos, Spanish rice, lettuce and a cookie.

We had a few come up and tell us what their favorite meal has been since we have been going to the downtown bus station. Meatloaf and the chicken pot pie and even one said mashed potatoes. That made us feel good just knowing that they remembered our meals.

Prayer request this week:
We seen Coco again. She came running to us with a great big hug. She calls Ed and I momma and papa. Such a sweet soul. She had just got out of the hospital still having stomach issues. Please help us pray that she can receive the help she needs.

Praise tonight!! We stopped at IHOP to get us something to eat this evening. The manager that we meet a month or so was on duty tonight. He is the dad of Wesson the 12 year old that has leukemia. I asked how Wesson was doing? He smiled really big and said that his son was able to go back to school. That’s a big deal for a kid with Leukemia. God has big plans for that kid!

Thanking God tonight for all of our Blessings!
Love,
Barbie
