If you've noticed the light poles and light globes looking fresh, give shout out to the maintenance crew.

These lights have guided generations of Americans down Bathhouse Row.

The fresh update will help Bathhouse Row look top notch for the July 4 community parade.

The parade will begin near the south end of Bathhouse Row and walk past the bathhouses--and under the lights--before ending at Arlington Lawn.

When visiting Hot Springs National Park, you'll encounter a variety of fascinating wildlife, including scorpions, spiders, and snakes! One particularly remarkable inhabitant is the Texas red-headed centipede (Scolopendra heros)!

While venomous, these centipedes are not deadly. Bites typically result in a sharp, painful sting, often accompanied by swelling, similar to a bee sting.

This centipede feeds on lizards, toads, snakes, and occasionally even rodents! Characteristically, they possess 23 pairs of yellow-colored appendages and belong to the class Chilopoda, which distinguishes them from insects.

As you explore the trails and visitor center, be sure to have your camera ready and keep an eye out for these amazing arthropods! However, exercise caution and do not attempt to pick up this centipede, as its bite can be quite painful!

Who’s ready to celebrate America’s 250th birthday? 🎉Hot Springs National Park sure is and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

If you remember the magic of the Bicentennial 🙋 - the flags, the parades, the way every community came together – then you know just how unforgettable these milestone moments can be.

This July 4, we’re teaming up with the Friends of Hot Springs National Park and America’s National Parks to host a Semiquincentennial celebration like no other - the Red, White and YOU Parade and Picnic!

Pull out your stars and stripes and join the All-American Parade! Meet us at Hill Wheatley Plaza at 9am dressed as Uncle Sam, a Founding Mother or Father, or rocking your best red-white-blue look. This isn’t a “sit and watch” kind of parade – everyone’s part of the fun! We’ll be strolling up Bathhouse Row to Arlington Lawn, and yes.. Decorated wagon floats are encouraged!
