Congratulations, Zoe! 🎉
Congratulations to Zoe Spangler, MOTS! Zoe completed the didactic portion of her Master of Occupational Therapy program at James Madison University and has spent the summer completing her first Level II fieldwork placement here at The Springs, beginning June 8, under the guidance of her Clinical Instructor, Jacob Fridley, MOTR/L.
When asked about her experience at The Springs, Zoe shared:
“My experience has been amazing! I would not trade it for anything. Everyone has been so welcoming and made the transition into fieldwork much smoother than I expected. I want to say a special thanks to Jacob and the rehab team for teaching me so much about a clinical population dear to my heart, and for being great friends!”
Zoe also shared her thoughts on working with Jacob as her Clinical Instructor:
“Jacob has been a great CI and is very knowledgeable about not only the patients he treats but also demonstrates what an amazing OT looks like. I’m lucky that we were able to work together for 12 weeks.”
Following the completion of this rotation, Zoe will be heading to Louisville, Kentucky, to complete her second Level II placement in pediatric neurology before graduating with her MOT degree in December!
When asked what advice she would give to future students considering a fieldwork placement at The Springs, Zoe said:
“First off, the patients are wonderful! Also, every clinician is very knowledgeable, will take the time to help you learn, and makes sure you have the tools to succeed! If you have an opportunity to complete a fieldwork at Kissito, take it!”
Zoe is also Jacob’s first OT student, making this a particularly special milestone for both of them. Jacob shared:
“Zoe has been an absolute pleasure to have as a student, and I feel honored to have been her CI. She is skilled, kind, and very hardworking. I have no doubt she will be an excellent OT and will make a difference in the lives of future patients.”

We are incredibly proud of the work you've done during your time with us and wish you the very best as you head into your next Level II rotation and the final stretch of your OT program.
