We are proud to arrange for this event as we have done in 2022 and 2024. Please help spread the word. These are the statewide issues so even your friends and family and other parts of Arkansas can benefit from this presentation.
The doors open at 5:45 PM. The program will begin at 6:00. It will stream live and be available on the Garland CountyLibrary page and YouTube channel through the election.

🌟 Investing in young innovators who are making a difference in our community!

💫👏 The Hot Springs Civitan Club was honored to welcome Lakeside High School EAST students Owen Plummer and Brody Johnson as they presented their Miracle Swing project to our members. Inspired by their vision, creativity, and commitment to inclusion, we were proud to contribute a $1,000 donation to help fund their work and bring the project closer to reality.

⚾ The Miracle Swing is an accessible batting device designed to help Miracle League players, particularly those with limited mobility, participate more fully in the game. The project beautifully reflects Civitan’s mission of supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and strengthening our community through service.

💙 We also want to recognize their teachers, John Stokes and Tyler Draper, and the Lakeside EAST program for the guidance, encouragement, and opportunities that help students turn meaningful ideas into action. We are grateful as well to their families for being there to support and celebrate them.

🫶 We are proud to stand behind Owen, Brody, their teachers, and Lakeside EAST as they work to bring the Miracle Swing to life and create greater inclusion, belonging, and joy for local athletes! ⚾

🚨 In our July meeting, we were pleased to welcome Hot Springs Police Chief Chris Chapmond and Assistant Police Chief Mark Davis to our recent Civitan meeting!

🚔Chief Chapmond gave an engaging look into the Hot Springs Police Department, its approximately 115 officers, and the many specialized areas that serve our community, including SWAT, K-9, and the Drug Task Force.

🤝He also shared the department’s emphasis on building strong relationships and trust with both residents and visitors, an especially important responsibility in a community that hosts around 120 special events each year.

We enjoyed learning about several initiatives and goals for the department, including plans for an Incident Command Vehicle, expanded drone capabilities, employee wellness efforts, continued work with the Community Resource Center, and the revival of the Citizens Police Academy.

Thank you, Chief Chapmond and Assistant Chief Davis, for spending time with us and for your service to the Hot Springs community! 👮‍♂️💙
