Hot Springs, NC, a resort destination for almost 200 years, has long been renowned for its healing mineral springs and scenic mountain setting. Native Americans were the first to discover the 100-plus degree mineral water from which the Town of Hot Springs received its name. We are located at the junction of the Appalachian Trail and the French Broad River in a valley surrounded by the Blue Ridge

Mountains and the Pisgah National Forest. And Hot Springs is North Carolina's only town that sits astride the Appalachian Trail.

Tucked at 50 S. Spring Street just behind the Welcome Center, this cozy mountain gem is packed with unique finds: local pottery, jewelry, soy candles, hand-painted wood pieces, stained glass, prints, and so much more. Perfect for that special souvenir or gift that actually feels personal.

Looking for great food in the North Carolina mountains? Head to Hot Springs!

All the restaurants in town are locally owned and serve fresh, creative dishes. You’ll find country cooking at the local diner, casual taverns, tasty takeout, and casual fine dining. Several spots feature locally grown ingredients, from mountain trout to other regional favorites.

You can eat by the creek, by a fire, or with mountain views. There’s also a lively nightlife scene with live music and local beer, cider, or wine most nights.
