Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance

Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance The mission of the Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance is to celebrate, advocate and promote the arts and culture of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Who we are:
The Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance is a non-profit organization composed of Hot Springs area artists, gallery owners, arts organizations and arts supporters all with an interest in seeing the Hot Springs arts community thrive and grow. Hot Springs has long been recognized as a haven for creative individuals as evidenced by being named No. 4 among the 100 Best Art Towns in America.

Over the years, non-profit organizations formed to support and encourage the appreciation of many different art forms, performing and visual. Music lovers, poetry enthusiasts, and others have coordinated events that have thrived for years in the Spa City. The arts communities have independently grown in reputation and economic impact since the early 90s. In 2013, two local philanthropists, Dorothy Morris and Don Munro, suggested an organization be formed to bring these entities together to promote the arts community as a whole. With support from the arts community, the City of Hot Springs, and Visit Hot Springs, this organization was formed. The mission of the Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance is to promote, advocate, and celebrate the arts and culture of Hot Springs, Arkansas. What we do:
• May 2014 – kick-off of annual Art & The Park “Year Zero.” This initial event featured special musical events, studio tours, gallery tours, plein aire painting, children’s activities and a sculpture walk along the greenway.
• Quarterly networking meetings to encourage communication and collaboration among Hot Springs area artists, arts organizations, and arts related businesses.
• Collaboration with Little Rock’s ACANSA Arts Festival to promote the Hot Springs Area arts and artists. What we plan:
May 2015, the first annual Arts & the Park will take place, a celebration of the arts and culture of Hot Springs and the surrounding area. This region-wide celebration will include performances of a wide variety of musical genres, independent performances, poetry presentation and slams, lectures and reading by writers, dance by amateurs and professionals alike, theater groups and visual artists. All will be invited to participate in the week-long festivities, centered in and around downtown Hot Springs. Hot Springs area artists and galleries will open their doors with special studio tours, featured artists and demonstrations, and a plein aire paint out that will appeal to art collectors and novices, alike. Sculpture walks to highlight Hot Springs’ extensive sculpture collection will also be included. So bring your creative spirit and open yourself and participate in something you may have always wanted to do…
