This weekend we are hosting the Boy's Basketball team of Little Rock Central High School. They are spending time team building in the outdoors! I told them if they win the State Championship this year to be sure and say, "Well, of course, we stayed at Camp Tanako!"

Our friends in Bryant, Cabot, Jonesboro, Fort Smith, and others may have something to say about that! Maybe you all should hold a team building retreat at Tanako...just in case 😂🏀!

Fall is in season at Camp, and thanks to some great volunteers, our entry sign is back! Last weekend we hosted the board of the Arkansas Environmental Education Association, and this weekend we welcome a men's retreat sponsored by Lakeview Assembly of God, Hot Springs!

Let this be a "sign" to you that we can host your personal or group retreat, Christmas Party, and more! Let us know how we can serve you.

We have been a little quiet here at Camp, but this weekend the Fall groups begin with a Student Retreat from Philander-Smith University! We would love to hear from you!

Over the last few years it seems the Racoon has become an unofficial mascot for Camp Tanako (if you see Carson Curran, ask him about it)! For the next two weeks we will be offering this key chain (very limited supplies) for any new gift of $50 or more. Go to our website or the link in the first comment, and give your best offering to assist us in our mission! We love and appreciate our camp family and friends!

Last Friday of Day Camp Week 9...and the end of Summer Camp 2026! Our Day Campers went out with a rush as they had Pizza, Sno Cones, and a top off of ice cream! Now we hand them off to their parents 🤣

Never fear though, Tanako is not silent yet...as we welcome in Wesley Foundation leaders from college campuses all over Arkansas for a weekend retreat!

Day Camp 2026 participated in a "daylight" campfire and s'mores today. A great time was had by all! A few of them did make the biggest mistake of s'mores prep by catching their marshmallow on fire 🔥 😪! We (meaning Matthew) will forgive them for this...

Good morning from Camp!Mr. Matthew spotted this little one checking out the comings and goings near the entrance today.

CAMP TANAKO SUMMER CAMP 2026~

Camp Tanako gave 6 summer camp scholarships totaling almost $2,200 and served over 600 campers and guests this summer!

We would like to thank the following churches for sending campers to Camp Tanako: Cabot, White Hall, Arkadelphia, Salem, Joplin, Blytheville, Monticello, West Memphis, Sheridan, Benton, Magnet Cove, Hamilton, Fairview, and Star City. These 14 churches sponsored 71 campers.

The Methodist Foundation for Arkansas (MFA) gave 79 camper scholarships totaling almost $26,000. They also sent 16 Preacher’s Kids (PK Kids) to go to camp during Annual Conference totaling $1,200. Therefore, the Methodist Foundation sent 95 campers in scholarships totaling $27,000. They also are giving four $500 college scholarships to our summer staff!

The Arkansas Conference gave half scholarships to 16 overnight PK campers and paid for Day Camp and childcare with 23 babies and children totaling 39 scholarships during Annual Conference 2026 costing over $5,800.

Camp Tanako can’t thank our donors, summer staff, churches, MFA, and the Arkansas Conference enough for your support and for your love to families so they could send their children to camp this summer! Blessings!!
