Community Services Office Since that time various programs have been added to assist low-income and disadvantaged persons in getting off of welfare and into the working society.

The Community Services Office, in partnership with the community, will focus on strengthening the educational, social, and economic well-being of individuals and families as they move toward economic independence and self-sufficiency. The Community Services Office, formerly The Office of Economic Opportunity, was established in 1965 through the efforts of community leaders and a small grant from The Office of Economic Opportunity. The Agency’s motto: “PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE” reflects the agency’s desire to help people break the cycle of poverty by becoming self sustaining and productive members of society. In order to reach our goals, the agency has developed cooperative relationships with low income families to bring about change in their lives. Discrimination against any person in any and all matters because of race, color, national origin, age, sex, or disability is prohibited.
