WILD LIFE OUTDOORS: FROM THE FIELD

This week’s feature comes from Sam Christman, and this one has a pretty wild story behind it!

Sam has been out on an expedition with his buddy spending nearly a month filming and chasing some incredible fish. Along the way, he’s landed several wolf fish in the high 80 CMs, but this particular catch came when he least expected it.

On his lunch break!

While throwing a topwater popper, Sam hooked into this monster and fought it for around five minutes before it managed to pop off.

But apparently, this fish wasn’t finished.

It came right back and hammered the popper a SECOND time!

With their intimidating teeth, powerful jaws, and aggressive strikes, wolf fish are some seriously impressive predators.

Huge thanks to Sam for sharing this awesome catch and story with us!

Well, I guess when you dominate a competition long enough, they eventually just name the damn thing after you. 😂

Clifton Jackson has pretty much owned the World Championship Squirrel Skinning Competition for years. So this year, Joe decided it was time to make things official. A golden 3D printed sculpture of Clifton Jackson himself, presented to Clifton at the World Champion Squirrel Cookoff.

And then came the announcement…

From here on out, it’s the Clifton Jackson World Championship Squirrel Skinning Competition. At this point, he’s not just the guy who won the competition. He IS the competition.

10:00 AM – Arm Wrestling Challenge with National-Level Arm Wrestler Dustin
10AM – Free Food Sampling Begins (Squirrel, Catfish & Pulled Pork Tacos!)
12:30 PM – Clifton Jackson World Champion Skinning Competition
1:30 PM – World Champion Hottest Squirrel Eating Contest
9-am3:00 PM – Cooking Competition Judging & Public Sampling
4:00 PM – Awards Ceremony & World Champion Crowning

Location: J.B. and Johnelle Hunt Family Ozark Highlands Nature Center (3400 N 40th St, Springdale, AR)
Parking: parking is 100% FREE! Follow the parking Signs and flags along with traffic attendants upon arrival. Ozark Transit will be running a constant flow of multiple shuttles.
