TACO board members David Hochstedler and Bart Hanners accepted a Certificate of Appreciation from the Undersecretary of Agriculture, Michael Boren, on Saturday. This award belongs to anyone who has participated in a TACO trail workday, anywhere across the Ouachitas. Your efforts have been noticed and are appreciated! Undersecretary Boren and Congressman Bruce Westerman joined TACO and the Forest Service for a trail maintenance workday on the Charlton trail.
TACO volunteers are the best -local volunteers, as well as the ones who fly in from DC.
(The Charlton trail is open and clear from Pipe Springs to the campground.)

WHAT IS TACO & WHAT DO WE DO?
Trail Advocacy Coalition of the Ouachitas

We are a Hot Springs based non-profit IMBA chapter who strives to be available to our community and neighboring communities to lend a hand in any way we can. Our group spends 1,000+ hours each year on the local trails and throughout the community doing our part.

🪏Trail maintenance- we work with local communities to keep trails clean, safe and accessible while fostering respect for nature and outdoor recreation. We are a dedicated group who organizes hands-on cleanup efforts.
🚲👟Community Focused- we volunteer at local events such as bike races, ultra races, running events, etc. (And, not to brag but- we have been told our TACO aid stations are some of the best. 😊) If you have an upcoming event, please shoot me a message.
🤜🏻🤛🏽Helping Hands- we work closely with local youth groups and groups of all ages to care for public trails through our volunteer services.
🚴🏻‍♀️🏃🏾‍♂️🥾🎉Socializing- we do love a fun time. TACO organizes group rides, hikes and runs with socials to follow. All of our events and gatherings are open to the public (people of all ages and skill levels).

TACO will be hosting a biking 🚵‍♂️🚴🏻‍♀️, hiking 🥾🥾 and running 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏾‍♂️👟 “pedal party” starting Tuesday, June 2 at 6:00 P.M. at Cedar Glades Park. There will be a social afterward.

Our goal is to host a party on the first Tuesday of each month at Cedar Glades. Stay tuned to this page for additional information.
