Today is National Thank A Police Officer Day

Our definition of a hero is someone who protects our world and community, and continues to make it a better place despite seeing the darkest aspects of it every day. Thank you for courageously putting on the badge and sacrificing more each day than most do in a lifetime.

Back the Blue 176 wants to say a big thank you to all men and women in law enforcement. We support you and recognize your daily sacrifices and brave acts. Not just today, but every day.

Make sure to sign up to run the Corporal Brent Scrimshire Memorial 5K on September 25th before the registration price increases. All proceeds from the race will be donated to his wife, Rachel, and his two young children.

The race will be held in Hot Springs this year and be ran down Bath House Row. Register through the link below.

HSPD K-9 Nitro

HOT SPRINGS - HOT SPRINGS POLICE DEPARTMENT: K-9 Nitro End Of Watch 1/9/2021

K-9 Nitro was the K-9 partner assigned to K-9 Corporal Brandon Jones. Nitro suffered a severe, sudden medical problem and was laid to rest January 9, 2021.

He was 2.5 years old.

Although he never 'missed' anybody (wink), most people will miss him.

Thanks for being a Hero while you were here, Nitro!
