In 1892 This beautiful Icon grew from the ashes, after being burned to the ground in 1891, it became a destination of the Black Hills. On January 9, 1979 while under a massive renovation fire struck again and gutted this beauty. The 5th floor sandstone suffered catastrophic damage and it had to be replaced. But not even the intense fire could take this building down. Once more out of the ashes the interior of the building rose. The Evans is on the Historical Registry, people from around the world have come to visit the building.
