Thank you to my sweet friend, Kimberly Lambert Walters, who made this for me today 💛 She is a fellow cancer mom who lost her beautiful teen daughter Savannah Walters Memorial Foundation for Childhood Cancer. We are mom’s who mourn our precious children together, along with so many more parents 💔

February 15th is International Childhood Cancer Day🎗️ I never could have imagined that one of my boys would have ever been diagnosed with cancer. Then in less than 3 years of fighting, he would be gone. February 7th was Colton’s Diagnosis Day, the second worst day of my life. You never think it can happen to you or your family but it’s happening EVERY SINGLE DAY ALL OVER THE WORLD!!!

🌍 Every Year Worldwide
• 400,000 children are diagnosed
• 100,000 children lose their lives

⏳ Every Day
• 1,095 children are diagnosed
• 274 children die

⏱ Every Hour
• 45 children hear the words “you have cancer”
• 11 children lose their fight

💛 Every 5 minutes, a child dies from cancer somewhere in the world!

It’s not rare anymore!! This is why we MUST continue to fight for changes and more studies. These children deserve to live. Colton deserved to live 😔

Today is World Cancer Day 🎗️

Cancer is the WORST thing in the world! For many people and families affected by this awful disease, EVERYDAY IS CANCER DAY! 🥺

I wish I had some eloquent words or facts for you but I don’t have the energy to write them. I know them all. The ring in head. It makes me angry. Especially when it comes to Childhood Cancer! This evil disease stole my Colton and SO MANY MORE!!! SO MANY ARE STILL FIGHTING!! 😡

More were diagnosed TODAY! That is why cancer kids funding and research is SO IMPORTANT! I believe there is a cure and a better way to cure cancer! My heart will not rest until we find it 💪

Please pray for all those who affected by cancer, it’s club no one wants to be in 🙏🙏🙏

How was this 3 years ago… We miss you so much Colty Boo! I know you’re watching over us everyday. My mama heart breaks thinking of the what’s… what would you look like right now? What would you have picked for a costume this year? You loved helping me decorate for all the holidays. It was a struggle to put them but I did. This is the start of the holidays which will no doubt be harder this year. It’s so hard without you but we keep going on the way you’d want us to. You’re so loved and missed by everyone!! 💔

WASHINGTON, Sept. 30, 2025 — The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services today announced a doubling of funding for its Childhood Cancer Data Initiative at the National Cancer Institute. The funding surge is designed to accelerate the development of improved diagnostics, treatments, and prevention strategies 🎗️🎗️🎗️

President Trump in 2019 established the Childhood Cancer Data Initiative to collect, generate, and analyze childhood cancer data. Its budget will rise from $50 million to $100 million, giving the federal government stronger data for this effort. The initiative will also bring in private-sector partners to apply advanced artificial intelligence to speed up cures for pediatric cancer 🙌🙌🙌

This September was an extremely emotional month for me. I guess it’s because I’m finally realizing my new reality. The reality that I will never get to see, hear or hold my sweet Colton again. That every September I am now one of these parents who have to honor their child who was stolen by Childhood Cancer. The once vibrant and feisty little boy who was so proud to wear his gold little suit, was dressed in that same suit he laid lifeless in at his funeral. My heart will forever be broken because I don’t have him here with us. It just isn’t fair!! 💔

Now in September I do what I can keep Colton’s memory alive and raise awareness. Unfortunately, I’m not alone! There are SO many of us!! It has to stop! The suffering these children have endure is unimaginable. The fact that so many kids are DYING every single day is unacceptable!! I know it’s heavy, I get it. It’s an uncomfortable conversation but we MUST talk about it and we MUST do more!!! Our children our dying every single day. It’s not your child, your grandchild, your niece, your nephew or your friend UNTIL IT IS!!! 😫

We won’t stop talking about our children we’ve lost and Childhood Cancer Awareness! We ARE making a difference! This year was the FIRST year that Fountain Lake Schools put a GO GOLD DAY for Childhood Cancer Awareness as one of the Homecoming dress up days 🥹 My dear friend, Kimberly Lambert Walters has done an amazing job with Cutter Going Gold. We will just keep talking about it until we hit every school, every college and every sports league until we hit the pros like the NFL! 💛

Colton’s Crusaders will do our part in this fight against Childhood Cancer. I’m grateful to say that this year we sent 5 Colty Boxes to brighten these amazing kids days and offer support where we can! I have 2 more going out next week! With your support we can to do more 💪

Our mission is to sponsor children and families who are wanting to try alternative treatments and medicines that insurance will not pay for. We are working with other parents and foundations who share the same mission. There are some BIG things happening! I truely believe there is a better softer way for cancer treatment. We will be joining the mission to get funding for clinical trials that the hospitals will FINALLY recognize! I believe the two medical worlds can and should coexist. These kids deserve EVERY option out there! 💚

💛 A very special thank you to Alex Garza for supporting our Colton’s Crusaders! 💛

Alex has followed Colton’s journey from the very beginning and continues to stand behind us. He is the Director of Regional Operations for NAHREP The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, where he helps so many around him. He is also a cancer survivor himself, which makes his support even more meaningful.🥹

I had the pleasure of finally meeting Alex in person this weekend. I brought him one of our new Colton shirts for Childhood Cancer Awareness, and without hesitation, he excused himself, took off his business shirt, and put it on immediately! He told me, “I’m wearing this the rest of the day”—and he did. 🙌

During our business meeting, Alex asked how he could help me with my development in Arkansas. He is a man who constantly goes out of his way to help and inspire others. As an advocate for cancer awareness, he is already working with us to make plans for taking Colton’s Crusaders to Washington, D.C. to build awareness and create change 💪

Alex, thank you for being such an amazing human and using your relationships and influence to help build bridges for others. Our sweet Colton touched lives far and wide, and I know he’s up there in Heaven cheering us on and guiding what’s to come. 🙏💛🎗️
