Incredible! Over the course of our three Match Days, South Brown County and friends of our community donated an amazing $148,935.14 to support 48 local nonprofits, making a huge impact across South Brown County.

Thanks to our generous Match Sponsors, every eligible gift was matched at 50%, adding $74,467.57. The Patterson Family Foundation also invested an additional $53,667.57 into the South Brown County Community Foundation Operating Endowment to contribute to long term sustainability!

Together, that’s an incredible $277,602.71 invested in South Brown County!

To every donor, Match Sponsor, volunteer, nonprofit, and supporter, thank you for believing in the future of our communities. And to the Patterson Family Foundation, thank you for your extraordinary commitment to rural communities! Your continued investment is helping build a stronger, more sustainable South Brown County for generations to come.

These numbers represent so much more than dollars. They represent opportunity, collaboration, and a community that continues to show up for one another. We can’t wait to see the lasting impact these investments will have.

Thank you, South Brown County!

Last night, we closed out Day 3 of Match Days giving! The giving window for this year is closed, and we will share our final donation total in the days to come.

We also celebrated more Growing Up Giving presentations last night. Our USD 430 fifth and ninth grade students each presented a $500 gift to the USD 430 Activities Fund, while students from Armor Academy chose to give their $500 gift to the Armor Academy Fund. Our USD 430 eighth grade students presented their $500 gift to the Brown County Fair.

It is heartwarming to see our young people choose to give back to the schools, programs, and organizations that pour so much into them. Thanks again to First Option Bank for sponsoring our youth philanthropy program.

We appreciate every sponsor, donor and the SBCCF Board for making Match Days so special year after year! Thanks as well to the Brown County Fair for all of the work that goes into giving our community a wonderful fair year after year.

This is the second year of SBCCF’s Growing Up Giving youth philanthropy program! This year, the program was sponsored by a generous $3,500 grant from First Option Bank, sponsoring seven local classrooms.

Through the program, SBCCF visited classrooms last spring and taught students about the community foundation, local nonprofits, and philanthropy. Each class was then given the opportunity to choose a local SBCCF nonprofit to receive a $500 donation. This donation is especially wonderful, given it will receive a 50% match, totaling $750 toward the chosen nonprofit!

This year, the kindergarten class directed its $500 gift to St. Leo’s Altar Society, the fourth-grade class supported Friends of the Everest Fire Department, and the senior class selected the Horton High School Alumni Association.

Four more class presentations will take place this evening at our last night of Match Days giving at the Horton Blue Building from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

Those that cannot give in person can still give online at GrowSouthBrown.com until 11:59 PM this evening.

And the number keeps rising! We are currently over $113,000 in donations!
