Thank you to everyone who came out to our meeting on Wednesday.

Congrats to our newest board members as well.

On a personal note I’d like to take the time to thank both past and present board members. It was a pleasure working with all of you.

My tenure on the executive board came to an end this past week after 3 years as softball VP and 4 years as VP of ops. It has been a wild ride since joining the executive board. Dealing with COVID and coming extremely close to no longer having a league all together, numerous severe weather issues (flooding, tornados, wild fires). Construction delays during various projects.

It has not been all bad during those 7 years. We recovered and began to build the programs back up again. We were able to make capital improvements around the complex. Dugout refurbishments, field 4 refurbishment, miracle field completion for our challengers division, play it forward program thanks to Katie Harrington.

I’m excited to see what the future holds for the league as they move forward. They have a lot in the works that will continue to make HLL even better.

My best advice I can give is to get involved!!!

I started out coaching my daughter in softball for coach pitch (last yr before we moved to quickball program) I knew nothing about softball but had a baseball background growing up. I asked questions, watched videos and a lot of college softball.

I was able to coach my daughter through MP, minors and majors. I got to watch her and her friends learn how to play and love softball has they grew. It was awesome being along side her for her journey. I get to continue that journey with my son now and love every second of it.

If coaching is not for you, there are other committees that you can get involved in within HLL where you can make an impact as well.

Thank you to all of the kids that I got to coach. Thank you to all the parents that allowed us to coach their kids and hopefully make a positive impact on their sports lives.
Thank you to the coaches who i stood with in the dugouts/fields over the years.
Thank you to all of our volunteers who managed the snack stand, came out during field cleanups, helped out after numerous weather events.

Don’t stand on the sidelines. Get involved. Make those memories that both you and your child will remember for years even after they are done playing.

Apparently it’s national coaches day. I’m not sure who makes these up or makes them official days but…

here’s to all of our VOLUNTEER COACHES, at all levels, who dedicate their time and efforts year in and year out for the boys and girls of HLL.

It’s a great message for kids/parents/coaches alike. You are going to make mistakes. It’s how quickly you get past that mistake and be ready for the next play.

As for tonight, the quickball coaches were unavailable for this evening to run a session. We apologize for that and are currently looking for some make up dates to replace the dates missed. More info will be available once we finalize those times/dates
