Please welcome our newest officer, Sam Shutter, to the Horseheads Police Department!

Officer Shutter has successfully completed the police academy and is currently progressing through the Field Training Program, where he is gaining valuable hands-on experience alongside our Field Training Officers.

We wish Officer Shutter the very best as he begins his law enforcement career serving the Village of Horseheads. Please join us in giving him a warm welcome and wishing him success and safety throughout his career!

Thursday night, the Village swore in its newest officer, Sam Shutter. With Sam, Chief Murray commands a full force for the Village of Horseheads.

The Horseheads PBA extends our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and former colleagues of retired officer, Michael Eisenhart following his passing on July 20, 2026.

We are grateful for his years of dedicated service to our community and the lasting impact he made on those who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

Effective today, June 1, the intersection of West Broad Street and Grand Central Avenue is now a FOUR-WAY STOP.

Drivers should come to a complete stop at the intersection and proceed only when it is safe to do so. Please be aware that traffic from all directions is now required to stop.

Please use caution, stay alert, and follow all posted traffic signs.
