40 years ago today, Space Shuttle Challenger exploded 73 seconds into its flight, killing all seven crew members. The shock of the incident was felt around the world.

We remember the crew of Challenger on that ill-fated day: Francis R. Scobee, Michael J. Smith, Ronald McNair, Ellison Onizuka, Judith Resnik, Gregory Jarvis and Christa McAuliffe.

McAuliffe, a history teacher, would have been the first private citizen ever to fly aboard the Space Shuttle.

Program Night following the board meeting next Wednesday, February 4th. The program will begin at 7:00 PM. It is an EAA Webinar titled "Design and Flight Characteristics of the Spirit of St. Louis." It is a fascinating and informative presentation, and compares the original Spirit and EAA's replica. So very sad. Sending strength and love to the people of UPS and the community impacted by the crash!

Our hearts are broken by the tragic loss of life in the UPS plane crash that claimed the lives of three dedicated employees and nine innocent civilians. We mourn alongside their families, friends, and coworkers whose worlds have been forever changed. These individuals were more than names in a headline. They were loved ones and contributors to their communities. In this moment of unimaginable grief, may we find strength in unity, compassion, and remembrance, honoring their lives with the care and respect they deserve.💔
