Huge congratulations to our JAG students on becoming CPR certified! ❤️👏

These students took an important step toward being prepared to help others in an emergency while building valuable life and career skills. We are so proud of their hard work, dedication, and commitment to making a difference in their community.

Thank you to Nick VanCleave from Barren County YMCA for training our students and getting them certified! Another big thanks to Beau Bruton for letting us use his classroom today!

Way to go, JAG students! 💪🚑

We couldn’t be more proud of our JAG students today! 🙌 Proud is such an understatement though. They hit it out of the park!

They showed up and showed out at the Reverse Job Fair hosted by Three Corners Employment Services. From the moment they walked in, our students represented themselves with confidence, professionalism, and determination.

They took the time to share their skills, goals, and ambitions with employers, proving that they are truly ready to take the next step toward their futures. Watching them advocate for themselves and make meaningful connections was incredible.

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. These students continue to rise, and we’re so proud to be part of their journey. 💜

✈️ JAG Students Take Flight in the Paper Airplane Factory Challenge!

Our JAG students participated in the Paper Airplane Factory Challenge through Empowered today, where they stepped into the role of entrepreneurs and engineers for the day! Mr. Beauchamp and Davie even got in on the action today!

Students worked in teams to design, test, and improve their paper airplanes while managing a “factory” focused on productivity and profit. Through this hands-on activity, they practiced real-world skills like problem-solving, teamwork, and decision-making.

This challenge emphasizes concepts like innovation, risk-taking, and learning from failure—key skills that help prepare students for future careers.

We loved seeing students collaborate, adapt, and push through challenges to improve their designs. The energy, creativity, and determination in the room were incredible!

👏 Great job to our JAG students for rising to the challenge and showing what it means to think like leaders and entrepreneurs!

Our JAG students took learning to the next level with dynamic presentations on popular conspiracy theories! 🎤

While the topics were intriguing, the real focus was on building critical thinking skills. Students analyzed evidence, questioned sources, and worked to separate fact from misinformation. Through their research and presentations, they practiced how to evaluate claims thoughtfully and responsibly.

Even more impressive was their ability to engage in professional, respectful conversations around controversial topics. Students demonstrated what it means to listen, respond with evidence, and participate in civil discourse—skills that will serve them well far beyond the classroom.

We are proud of their confidence, curiosity, and commitment to becoming informed, thoughtful leaders! 👏

Our JAG students have been hard at work giving back to the community! 💙

Last week, students rolled up their sleeves to clean up around the football field, helping keep our school grounds safe, welcoming, and ready. Their teamwork and pride in their school truly showed!

They also made a difference at the elementary school during Math & Literacy Night, where they helped in the kitchen and at the book fair.

We are so proud of their commitment to service, leadership, and making a difference in our community! 👏

Our JAG students wrapped up their unit on paychecks and taxes last week, and they didn’t just learn it—they experienced it!

Students explored how to calculate:
✔️ Hourly wages
✔️ Overtime pay
✔️ Total hours worked
✔️ Gross vs. net income
✔️ Common paycheck deductions like taxes

To bring it all together, we ended with a fun Skittles activity 🍬

Each student earned “pay” in Skittles based on their calculated wages… but just like real life, deductions came out too! From “taxes” to “expenses,” students quickly saw how their paycheck changes and why understanding finances is so important.

The reactions said it all—lots of laughs, a little frustration, and a whole lot of learning!

We’re proud of our JAG students for building skills that will help them succeed far beyond the classroom. 👏

We were excited to welcome representatives from Metalsa to speak with our JAG students today! Their team from Elizabethtown shared valuable insight into the manufacturing industry, highlighting the wide range of career opportunities within their company—from production and quality control to maintenance and leadership roles.

Students learned about the skills and work ethic needed to succeed, as well as the importance of teamwork, safety, and growth within a company. Thank you, Metalsa, for investing in our students’ futures and helping them see the possibilities that await after graduation!
