The Belfry

The Belfry www.belfryarts.com The Belfry is a exhibition venue located in Hornell, New York within the sanctuary of what was once the Spencer Methodist church.

The Belfry provides opportunities for experimentation, inspiration, and education in contemporary art. Acting as a platform for innovative, experimental ideas and specifically sited projects, The Belfry seeks to present artist talks and related public programs intended to expand community interest and encourage discourse and understanding of contemporary art. Exhibitions are organized to showcase

a spectrum of emerging and established artists of national and international stature outside local reach.

Come join us for the first opening this spring! Revelate will be on view this Thursday March 27th from 7-9 pm. This site specific installation uses the architecture of the Belfry as its medium. On view for opening night only!

Katie Wong and Kevin Dejewski challenge one's perception of what is physically possible and what is an illusion by using the architectural space as their sole material. Dynamic surround sound and custom light emitting devices will blend with the natural elements of the space to transform its acoustic and visual properties.
