The Water Movement is a project of the Global Community Network. The Water Movement is a solution for global climate change. Unlike turning your faucet or light off, or trying to buy local produce to reduce transportation impact, The Water Movement is a solution which will allow for the burgeoning population. In order to solve these massive problems, we must make massive efforts. Not that recyclin
g, reuse and other methods of conservation aren't all great ideas, they absolutely are necessary. What we are dealing with is larger than that. It requires an appropriately sized solution, and one which incorporates these other parts as building blocks for change. Ocean levels are rising, the deserts are spreading. Our sun sends huge amounts of power to our planet, which both causes those problems and can be the solution, because ost of that power is not utilized. In desert regions, the natural processes which would take advantage of inbound solar radiation, ie plant-life, are simply not present. As most rain comes from the plants' process of transpiration, the desert grows. Desertification is one of the most serious causes behind global climate change, perhaps because it is one of the most overlooked. The Water Movement is a solution to this problem, by providing the water for halting and reversing desertification while simultaneously growing the filtration system for the greenhouse gases. By focusing sunlight, we can boil large volumes of water, in this case ocean water. Once boiled, the resulting steam can be utilized to generate power using a steam turbine. After leaving the steam turbine, the steam can be directed far inland and uphill, steam rises of course. Once uphill, this steam can be condensed, and used to water plants and in the process, more power can be generated using hydroelectric as the water drops into the valley on the opposite side of the mountain. Another benefit to this process, when focusing sunlight, we create a shade zone which facilitates plants being able to develop roots in area where they would normally be unable to withstand the harsh desert climate. Generating power, creating clean water and facilitating the re-vegetation of planet. In order for this to be successful at the goal of reversing global climate change (by means of reducing the levels of CO2 and toxins in our environment), this must be a massive, concerted effort. This must be as much a movement of the people as a movement of the actual water on our planet.
