Help us keep the DREAM Backpack shelves stocked!!
Every weekend, Dream Backpack helps make sure students have food to take home when school meals aren’t available. But we can’t fill those backpacks without YOU!

This year, we’ve seen a significant increase in the need across our community. We already have three times the number of students signed up to receive backpacks compared to previous years.

There are so many ways to be part of the Dream:
1. Volunteer — Sign up to serve our DREAM backpack program weekly and pack bags and deliver to schools across DeSoto County.
2. Host a Food Drive — Rally your church, business, school, small group, or friends to collect the food that fills these backpacks.
3. Give $50 a Month — $50 a month feeds one student every weekend for a month.
4. Shop Our Amazon Wishlist — Purchase needed items and send them directly to the Dream Center.

One backpack may seem small, but to a child, it can mean food, hope, and knowing someone cares.

Choose your way to help fill a backpack and help a child DREAM AGAIN.

MAKE IT HAPPEN MONDAY 💙

There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes at the DeSoto County Dream Center and none of it happens alone. Every backpack handed out, every family served, every student encouraged, and every dream supported is made possible because people in our community choose to step up and make a difference.

Today, we’re celebrating some of the incredible people and organizations who have been part of making it happen:

🦞 Rotary Club of Southaven — for hosting the Crawfish Countdown and donating a portion of the proceeds to support the Dream Center!

🎓 Christian & Khalil — for sharing their stories and helping us show the impact of the DREAM Scholars program.

🍔 Walk-On's Southaven — for hosting a backpack drive and giving us a percentage of every bill while also bringing the community together for their Back-to-School Bash!

📚 TrueCare — for sponsoring a classroom and supporting our Backpack Giveaway through generous donations.

🀄 Linda McKnight — for turning a mahjong fundraiser into an opportunity to bless local families!

🥕 Hernando Farmers Market for allowing us to come and share who we are to your beautiful community.

💙 The Warriors Center & every volunteer who helped set up the new Olive Branch Emergency Needs Closet — your hands, time, and hard work are helping us create a place where families can find help with dignity and hope.

This is what Make It Happen Monday is all about. 🙌

The Dream Center may be the place where the work happens, but it takes an entire community to make the mission possible. We could not provide food, clothing, education, healthcare, and hope to our neighbors without the people who continue to believe in this mission and show up to make it happen.

We had an incredible first two weeks of the DREAM Scholars Program, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead!

Our DREAM Leaders kicked off at our Horn Lake campus, while our DREAM Learners began their journey at both our Horn Lake and Olive Branch campuses!

More than homework and academic support, DREAM Scholars is about relationships. It’s about showing up, listening, encouraging, celebrating progress, and reminding students that they are seen, known, and believed in.

We never take for granted the opportunity to build relationships with students across DeSoto County. Every week is another chance to invest in a child’s future and help them discover what they’re capable of.

And to our Champions, THANK YOU! Your time, encouragement, consistency, and heart are what make this program so special.

🙏 Pray for our DREAM Scholars!

This week, our DREAM Scholars Program, formerly known as our Education & Leadership Program, begins a new season! Our DREAM Learners will now meet in both Horn Lake and our new location in Olive Branch, and we couldn’t be more excited about what God is going to do in and through these students.

Would you join us in praying that our DREAM Scholars don’t just succeed in school or in life because of this program, but that they grow mentally, spiritually, and in confidence as they discover who God has created them to be?

Most importantly, pray for the Champions who will walk alongside them. Pray that God would place the exact right people in the lives of these students, people who will encourage them, believe in them, challenge them, listen to them, and help them see what is possible.
We believe Champions can change the trajectory of a life.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to come learn more about serving with our DREAM Scholars programs this fall. Your willingness to show up speaks volumes.

The truth is, you're not just volunteering. You're becoming the person a child will remember years from now, the one who believed in them, encouraged them, celebrated their victories, and helped them take the next step toward a brighter future.

Every homework assignment completed, every book read together, every word of encouragement, and every smile has the power to change the trajectory of a student's life.
