⚠️ **FOOD BANK SUPPLY UPDATE** ⚠️

Dear Grays Harbor Community,

Our food delivery is arriving on an **off week this week**, which means our supplies will unfortunately be more limited than usual.

**We will serve everyone who comes to us**, but we want to be upfront that our food boxes will be smaller this week.

If you have the ability to visit another local food bank first, we encourage you to do so, as our supplies will be limited. And as always, **if you do not truly need food assistance right now, please consider leaving those resources for someone who does.** A little consideration can go a long way toward helping a neighbor who may have nowhere else to turn.

Even during weeks like this, it is still a blessing and a pleasure to serve our community.

**Thank you, Grays Harbor, for your many years of kindness, generosity, patience, and support.** We are incredibly grateful for this community and for the opportunity to continue serving those in need.

📢 **IMPORTANT NOVEMBER SCHEDULE CHANGE**

We’re getting this information out early so our community has plenty of time to plan ahead.

**Adventist Community Services – 3 R’s Thrift Store & Foodbank** will have a temporary change to our normal days of operation during November due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

🦃 **THANKSGIVING DAY — NOVEMBER 26**
Both the **Food Bank and Thrift Store will be CLOSED**.

🥫 **FOOD BANK – NOVEMBER DISTRIBUTION DAYS:**
**Thursday, November 12**
**Thursday, November 19**

Please note that **November 19 will replace our normal fourth-Thursday distribution** for the month.

👕 **THRIFT STORE:**
As of right now, the Thrift Store plans to be open during Thanksgiving week on its regularly scheduled days, but **will be CLOSED on Thanksgiving Day, November 26**.

We wanted to share this information early so that everyone who depends on our services has time to make arrangements. Please feel free to **share this post** and help us get the word out throughout our community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came together to process the fish donated to our food bank through Washington Fish & Game.

It was wonderful having you all there, with each person stepping in and playing their part. It truly felt like God made sure we had the perfect number of people for the job.

The work was fulfilling, the conversation was good, and the fellowship was an unexpected blessing. Sometimes serving others blesses us just as much as the people we are trying to serve.

Thank you for giving your time, your hands, and your hearts to help provide food for people in our community. It was a blessing spending that time with each of you.

❤️ **Grays Harbor, You Are Amazing!** ❤️

On Thursday, August 27th, just before we began distributing food boxes at our food bank, a gentleman from Promise Fellowship Church showed up with an incredible blessing.

Earlier that morning, he had purchased
**210 pounds of food** to help us provide for families in our community.

He was nothing but smiles. When we asked if he would like a receipt for his donation, he simply said no—he felt blessed to be able to help provide for his community.

We are not sharing his name out of respect for his privacy, but we certainly want to recognize the kindness and generosity behind what he did.

Sometimes love for our neighbors looks very simple: seeing a need and quietly doing what we can to help meet it.

**“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” — Hebrews 13:16**

To this generous gentleman: **thank you.** Your kindness helped put food into the hands of people who needed it, and we are incredibly grateful.

And to all of Grays Harbor—thank you for the many ways you continue to support, encourage, give, volunteer, and care for one another.

❤️ **A Message to Our Grays Harbor Community** ❤️

Our food bank is currently experiencing a serious shortage of food. Unfortunately, we are not alone—food banks throughout our area are facing similar shortages.

If you come to our food bank tomorrow, **Thursday, July 9**, we want you to know ahead of time that you can expect to receive only a small box containing some dried and shelf-stable goods. At this time, we most likely will not have protein or many of the other items we normally try to provide.

We respectfully ask that if you are not currently in urgent need of food assistance, please consider waiting until our supplies improve. This will help us stretch the limited food we have and make sure that those who are facing the greatest need have something to take home.

Please understand: **we will serve anyone who comes to us. We do not judge anyone's circumstances, and no one should ever feel ashamed for asking for help.** We are simply here to serve our community with kindness, dignity, and compassion.

We wish we had more to give right now. Until our food supply improves, we simply ask that those who visit us understand that the boxes will be smaller and more limited than usual.

Notice to our valued clients: Beginning in May, the food bank's new schedule will be limited to the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Although this change may cause some inconvenience, we believe it will enable us to better serve the community. Our thrift store hours will remain the same: 11 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday. Thank you for your understanding and continued support, Grays Harbor. May you all receive blessings.
