Checked to see if I could find the names of the baseball players in the St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Parish's photo from 1909 posted earlier but no luck. I did find this photo with the names on the back from around the same time. Disregard the date of 1916-18 given the birthdates we have for these boys, the photo is more likely to have been from around 1905. I used AI to make the originals clearer but did not alter anything else.

From the Hopkinton Trails Club

Saturday, July 18, 10AM: Guided walk to the Dickman cellar hole at the Fruit Street property. John Dickman was a Boston Tea Party participant and involved with many events with the American Revolution. 250 years later, it's appropriate to honor him with a visit to where he lived and worked. In addition to the cellar hole, we'll explore the trails in the area. Meet at the Pratt Farm parking area, between 106 and 126 Fruit Street (next to the pond).

Did you ever wonder where the nickname Stonethrowers came from? We've heard a lot of different theories over the years but none were presented with certainty. We may have found the answer in Tipperary, Co. Kerry. Many Irish immigrants who settled in Hopkinton were from Kerry - a section of Pleasant St was nicknamed "Kerry Hill" at one time.
