HYS is excited to share that 12 year-old 7th grader, Aadya Yeramalla (who has been playing for HYS since our Kick-Start Program), recently became a published author!

Her first book tells the story of a teen girl's journey through soccer, highlighting themes of perseverance, teamwork, resilience, and self-belief.

Soccer has been a huge part of Aadya's life and HYS is proud to share her incredible milestone.

⚽🌎 Rising 6th graders Aadya Ashok and Tanvi George recently visited the giant FIFA World Cup soccer ball display in Copley Square, celebrating Boston’s role as one of the host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

What a fun way to spend a summer day, exploring the city, experiencing a little piece of soccer history, and proudly showing off their Hiller spirit! 💚🧡

HYS has a team for anyone that wants to play!

Too many kids are told, directly or indirectly, that sports are only for the most talented, the most committed, or the kids willing to sacrifice everything else.

But sports were never meant to be reserved for a small percentage of children. They’re an essential part of childhood.

Every kid deserves the chance to move, compete, grow, and discover what they’re capable of at their own speed on their own level.

The more places we create where kids of every ability feel like they belong, the more kids will stay active for life.

That’s more important than training elite middle schoolers.

The ultimate irony in youth sports is that so many adults sacrifice the very thing that produces long-term success in hopes of creating it sooner: a true love of the game.

We often chase better teams, more tournaments, private lessons, and year-round schedules because we’re afraid our kids will fall behind.

But if all that pressure causes them to lose their love for the game, none of it matters.

A kid who loves their sport will willingly put in the work when the time is right. That’s a much stronger foundation than trying to force greatness before they’re ready.
