Well look no further. Stop by tomorrow, Saturday, June 20th from 9am-2pm for a yard sale that is giving 100% of the proceeds to Diamond Chamber No. 6 youth program.

"The official Juneteenth flag, created in 1997 by activist Ben Haith (founder of the National Juneteenth Celebration Foundation), uses the exact same colors as the American flagThis was a deliberate choice to symbolize that enslaved African Americans and their descendants were, and always have been, American citizens.The colors represent the blood shed by enslaved ancestors (red), the pursuit of liberty and justice for all (white), and the new horizon/opportunities ahead (blue).

Many celebrants also embrace the colors of the Pan-African Flag (also known as the Black Liberation Flag) Red: Honors the blood shed by ancestors during the long struggle for freedom and liberation. Black: Represents the people of the African diaspora and celebrates Black identity and heritage. Green: Symbolizes the land, natural wealth, and hope for growth and renewal.

The Cultural Significance of "The Color Red"
Beyond flags, the color red holds a central, historical place in Juneteenth traditions, specifically through food and drink. Consuming red foods (such as red velvet cake, strawberry pie, hibiscus tea, and red punch) is a cultural tradition that connects African Americans to West African heritage, where red symbolizes sacrifice, spiritual power, and transition.

The members of Diamond Chamber No. 6 (which is the youth membership of Naomi Chapter No. 6 OES PHA) hosted its first annual Spring Fling in Peace Park on Saturday, May 23rd.
This was a free event to engage and meet some of the children and parents in our community and let them know who we are.
There were games, food, and a day filled with laughter and fun.
We look forward to having this event annually.

The members of Naomi Chapter No. 6 OES PHA had the privilege of honoring Mr. Aiden Jesse and Mr. Lamareon Jeffers each with a $500 check as part of our Latrice Dodson Education Assistance Award.
Both young men are well deserving of the Award and we wish them success in their academic endeavors.
Congratulations young men on a job well done.
