One year ago today, January 1, 2022, Hopkinsville-Christian County experienced a tornado that reached a peak wind speed of 115mph.
Miraculously, no fatalities were recorded and we are grateful. Work has been completed to assist those affected by this disaster by the Christian County Long Term Recovery Group and we are still here to assist with unmet needs from this event. As we remember the weather disaster in Christian County a year ago, here's a reminder from Catholic Charities and Christian County Emergency Management to be prepared for emergencies with a basic emergency supply kit. The Basic Emergency Supply Kit List below will be helpful to you and your loved ones.

Tuesday, October 25 at the Boys and Girls Club in Hopkinsville, Kentucky!

Christian County Long Term Recovery Group helps with unmet needs from the December/January tornado disasters in our area. The purpose of the Resource Fair is to learn about available resources to address remaining unmet needs resulting from the tornadoes. The Resource Fair will be at the Boys and Girls Club, 1600 S. Walnut Street, Hopkinsville, KY on Tuesday, October 25 from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

DO YOU KNOW OF ANYONE WITH UNMET NEEDS FROM THE DECEMBER OR JANUARY TORNADOES?

This event will be coordinated by case managers and volunteers of the Christian County Long Term Recovery Group Inc. Stop by anytime between 11:00-5:00 on Wednesday, 9/21/22 at the Pembroke City Hall.

Please let as many people within the Pembroke area know about this event. Examples of unmet needs include but are not limited to home repair, debris removal, terrain repair, appliances, household furnishings, clothing, vehicle repair, tornado related health expenses, and unresolved insurance deductibles.

Yesterday, Brent Gilkey, representing the Back to Back Foundation, Inc. (Brice Long) donated several gift cards to Randy Graham of the Christian County Long Term Recovery Group, Inc. Beginning immediately, the CCLTRG will identify and distribute the gift cards to the survivors of the December and January tornadoes that struck Christian County.
