A "Nourishing Our Neighbors" grant, provided by Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation, is helping address food insecurity for families being served by the Hopewell Food Pantry. Food Lion believes no one should have to wonder where their next meal will come from or have to make the choice between paying bills or buying food. Their grant of $3,000 will assist us in dealing with their goal. Thank you, Food Lion!

If you forgot to pick up June's Federal box, please stop by on Wednesday, July 2nd, and you can still get it.

FeedMore will be sending the upcoming July Federal box late. It will be available for you to pick up on Wednesday, July 9th. If you can delay receiving your July distribution, you'll save yourself a trip.

Many of our food insecure clients find it difficult to purchase shampoo, bar soap, toothpaste, and other personal hygiene items. In the past, we've always given these to our homeless/weekly clients, but there are others in need of these as well.

Our seniors often need nutrition drinks, such as Ensure and Boost, but can't afford them. If your church would like to start a special Sunday school or church project, both hygiene items and nutrition drinks are where you can really help.

You can drop these items off on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday from 9AM-3PM. Go to the entrance next to our garage door, and someone will help you bring it in. Thank you!

Three upcoming reminders:
The Hopewell Food Pantry will be closed on Friday, July 4th, in observance of Independence Day. We will be open on Monday and Wednesday to help prepare for the long weekend.

For those who have not picked up their senior Federal Box, this Monday is the end of the month. Don't lose your privilege to receive this box of goodies. If you believe you're eligible for the program based on your age and income, call the food pantry line at 804-530-3546.

The Clothing Place is busting at the seams with some great clothing and household goods. Whenever you purchase an item at the thrift store, you are helping the pantry buy food for our clients.

Correction to Reminder:

The HFP requires both an ID, such as a current driver’s license, and a bill or lease (dated within 60 days of your distribution visit). We no longer accept a driver's license alone for proof of residency.

Once you are registered, you are permitted one visit a calendar month. Each time you visit, you will be required to present both forms of proof in order to prove your residency.

The number of clients we are presently serving has been increasing every month. We ask that you adhere to the guidelines, so that eligible families can be served.

Calling all volunteers!
The Shepherd’s Center of Chesterfield urgently seeks dedicated volunteers to help us resume services in the Hopewell area. For years, we have proudly supported seniors by providing free transportation to essential medical appointments, grocery stores, and more. However, due to a shortage of volunteers, we have been unable to continue these services in Hopewell until now.

We are calling on compassionate individuals who want to make a real difference in the lives of older adults. Volunteering a few hours a week can help local seniors maintain their independence and dignity.

Volunteer drivers and office support are needed immediately. No special license is required—just a willingness to lend a hand and a heart for service.

If you or someone you know lives in or near the Hopewell area and is willing to help, please get in touch with The Shepherd’s Center of Chesterfield at 804-706-6689 or email us at [email protected].

Please help us spread the word and bring this vital service back to our Hopewell neighbors. Together, we can make a lasting impact.
