Our friends from RVA Paddlesports are in Downtown Hopewell today for our fourth annual Paddle In Your Park at City Park. Come on down this afternoon until 4pm and take a kayak for a spin. Free and open to all ages. We've got over 60 people registered but walkups are always welcome.

We’re kicking off something brand new in downtown Hopewell—a FREE, family-friendly monthly street event designed to bring the whole community together for an evening of live music, great food, cold adult beverages, and fun for all ages! 🎉👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
Hosted in partnership with The Hopewell Downtown Partnership, the Sunset Series transforms E. Cawson Street into a vibrant, walkable destination filled with energy, connection, and summer-night magic.

📅 THURSDAY, MAY 21ST — OUR FIRST EVENT!
We’re shutting down E. Cawson Street for an unforgettable kickoff featuring live entertainment, kids games, activities, and plenty to keep the little ones having a blast while adults relax and enjoy the evening.

If you like a good story tomorrow is a big day in Downtown Hopewell. Start of at Appomattox Regional Library System for their Bagful of Books Sale and then to The Time Capsule for Free Comic Day and then walk across Broadway to the newest store downtown Studio 212 Upscale Resale and pick up a bookshelf or anything else your home may need.

Don’t miss out on one of our biggest book sales of the year!

Join us on May 2nd at the Hopewell Library for the Bagful of Books Sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fill a standard grocery bag or tote with books for just $2—it’s the perfect chance to stock up on great reads for a great cause. We will have a wide variety of genres.

We’ll also have DVDs available 3 for $1—a great deal you won’t want to miss!

Friends of the Library members get early access at 10 a.m., so come early and grab the best selection. Memberships will be sold at the door.

If you need something to do on the Appomattox this weekend, there’s a yoga flow at Weston Manor on Saturday, May 2 from 11 to 12:30. We’re not hosting, but it’s a great way to spend time by the river.

Next up is Paddle In Your Park on Saturday, May 9 from 1 to 4pm at City Park. Join RVA Paddlesports and get out on the water with free kayaks, rafts, and paddleboards. All experience levels welcome.

The Rent.Fun kayak station at City Park is also open for the season, so you can get on the water anytime.
Plenty of ways to enjoy the river over the next few weeks.
