Head’s Up!

If you missed our initial registration period, the website is now open again until Wednesday for anyone in grades K-4 interested in playing Intramural basketball.

Travel tryouts have completed and registration for grades 5-8 is closed.

Travel Tryouts are this week

Boys 4th grade - Tuesday, 6 PM to 7 PM, Thursday, 7 PM to 8 PM

Boys 6th grade - Tuesday, 7 PM to 8 PM, Friday, 7 PM to 8 PM

Boys 7th grade - Tuesday, 8 PM to 9 PM, Thursday, 6 PM to 7 PM

Right now, these are the teams that have enough registrants for us to field teams. If that number increases by Sunday night in a certain division, we can look at having a tryout for that group the week of 10/19.

Once Travel Tryouts are complete, we will put together the K, 1st/2nd, and 3rd/4th grade Intramural teams and email everyone with the ir team info (practice schedule, clinics, etc.).

Based on our registration numbers right now, here’s our Travel Team tryout schedule;

Tuesday, October 14th

6 PM to 7 PM - Boys 4th grade

7 PM to 8 PM - Boys 6th grade

8PM to 9 PM - Boys 7th grade

Thursday, October 16th

6 PM to 7 PM - Boys 7th grade

7 PM to 8 PM - Boys 4th grade

Friday, October 17th

7 PM to 8 PM - Boys 6th grade

Players should make every effort to make it to both tryouts but need to attend at least one in order to be considered.
Players do not need to bring a basketball but should be dressed to play (shorts, T-shirt, sneakers).

Hi Everyone,
It looks like there was still an issue with the Kindergarten registration on the Registration website. It should be working so please try again to register any Kindergarten students interested in being part of the Program.
I’ll be updating the Registration website with some generic info about the program in the next few days but in the meantime, here are the answers to some frequently asked questions;
1. The season, both Intramurals and Travel runs from the beginning of November until the end of February. CYO shuts down between Christmas and New Year’s and there are no practices or games scheduled then.
2. Practices are once a week during the week, between 6 PM and 9 PM. Younger teams get the earlier time slots. All Intramural practices are at St. Columba. Some of the Travel team practices may be at Our Lady of Lourdes High School’s small gym.
3. Clinics/Scrimmages/Games for the Intramural Program are at St. Columba on Saturday mornings between 9 AM and 1 PM.
Games for the Travel Program are on Saturdays and Sundays, usually in the afternoon. Home games are at St. Columba or occasionally at Van Wyck Junior HS, usually on Sunday afternoons. Away games could be Saturdays or Sundays, but are at the discretion of the home team.

Registration is in full swing and the new system seems to be working well.
There was one glitch. The Kindergarten group was never opened on the site. It is working now so please sign up and let anyone who couldn’t find the Kindergarten group know that it’s up and working now.

Good News!!! The registration system is now up and running.

Registration will run until October 12th. If you have any issues with the website, please email me using the email address listed on the website and I will address the issue as soon as I can.

This registration and fee covers both Intramurals and Travel teams. There are additional fees for the Travel teams which will be discussed once those teams have been chosen.

Just a quick update;
The registration site just needs a few last minute tweaks but won’t be ready first thing tomorrow.
As soon as we get things up and running, which should be in a day or two, I’ll let you all know.
The new site will allow us to post schedules, send out blast emails, and post announcements about upcoming events.

Hi Everyone,
Looks like our new registration site won’t be ready until next Monday, September 8th. If we iron all the kinks out sooner, I will post as soon as that happens.
I will be confirming all of our important dates this week; Saturday morning clinics, start and end of Intramural season, travel tryouts etc.

Hi Everyone!!! Hope your summer has been great so far.
We are rapidly approaching the start of the 2025/2026 school year which means also the start of our 2025/26 CYO basketball season.
Online registration is set to begin on September 1st and run until October 12th.
Dates for Travel Team tryouts will be announced shortly but should be during the weeks of 10/12 and 10/19.
