Today at Hope Elementary, students in grades 3-5 were able to learn more about Mi’kmaq culture from Mike Morin, a basket weaver whose ancestors are native to New Brunswick, Canada. Each student created a small berry basket using basic weaving techniques, and materials, including ash wood that was hand-harvested by Mike.

Partners for Enrichment is able to bring programs and experiences like these to children in Hope, Appleton, and Lincolnville, because of generous monetary donations from our community! Thank you!

This spring, Partners for Enrichment is excited to bring “Within A Whale” to PreK through Fifth Grade in Appleton Village School, Hope Elementary School, and Lincolnville Central School.

“Within the Whale," is a Maine-based program that uses a life-sized, inflatable humpback whale to teach about marine biology and conservation. This interactive experience will allow our students to step inside the inflatable whale, explore its anatomy while learning about the challenges faced by humpback whales and the importance of ocean conservation.

Hope Elementary School’s 🏫 kindergarten class had a special visitor today -Kellie Doyle Bailey, Calm Cool Kids Educate! They learned SO many new things about their brain 🧠 and what happens to it when you feel upset. She read her newest book, “Some Days I make Mistakes” and the kids really CONNECTED with the story. They even could see a resemblance in the main character 😉 Thanks, Kellie! HES loved every minute of your visit. ❤️
