Ladies,

Please plan to come to our September 28th meeting, 10:00 AM, in the Fireside Room. Julie Adams and Patti Fore will tell us all about their mission trip to Africa. Information is attached from Julie about the trip. We will make sandwiches for COR after the meeting.

Also, once again we want to help East Lake UMC sell their pecans, we did this last year and they were so appreciative. Betsy Britain and Debra McCallum have volunteered to take charge of this project. The order form is attached and we are asking for all orders be returned to them by October 12th.

One more, Carol Westbrook and Sylvia are going to the Conference Annual Meeting on October 3rd in Birmingham and would love to have more go with them. The registration form is attached with a deadline of September 20th to register. We can all car pool if you want to go and this is suppose to be a very good meeting this year. Carol and Sylvia will be your voting delegates and we are in the West District.

Lots going on, just come on and join in.

On Monday, September 28th at 10:00am in the Fireside room, come and learn about Challenge Farm in Kitale, Kenya with lots of pictures and a power point presentation. Patti Fore and Juie Adams joined a group from Cedar Branch Church in Tuscaloosa, to go to Africa in January 2026, there was a total of 6 people on our team. Maggie and Berta from Tuscaloosa will be joining us to support and help answer any questions.

Serving can help one person or hundreds; the number is not important. Jesus does not measure how far we go or how many we serve (reach?) when sharing his love. Service can happen in person or through donations that provide essential supplies.

Missions take many forms and can happen in your backyard, across town, or around the world. Jesus tells us to share his teachings and love in Mark 16:15: “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” The kids and community of Kitale were touch by the fact that someone would make the effort to come from Alabama to visit and join in them in worshipping our God.

God of comfort and courage,
we lift up Nepal and the Tibetan region tonight —

Be near to those who wait for news.
Strengthen the hands of every responder.
Hold the dead in your mercy, and the living in your peace.
