God of comfort and courage,
we lift up Nepal and the Tibetan region tonight —

the families searching for loved ones still missing,
the rescuers climbing into danger to bring people home,
the communities standing in mud and grief where villages once stood.

Be near to those who wait for news.
Strengthen the hands of every responder.
Hold the dead in your mercy, and the living in your peace.

Move through your people now —
open our hearts, our hands, and our resources
toward those who have lost everything.

Please make plans to attend our August 24th meeting at 10 am in the Fireside Room! Our friends from the Central Alabama Food Bank will present our program.

We are inviting all from the church to attend, especially those who volunteer for the food pantry. Our church mission focus for September is Food Insecurity so watch for more information in the September newsletter!

What do you do when all four of your grandkids are in town at the same time? You bring them to First Light to serve dinner together. ❤️

Our wonderful volunteer, Ms. Betsy Britain, had the joy of sharing this special experience with her family, showing her grandchildren the importance of giving back and serving others. Moments like these remind us that kindness is something that can be passed from one generation to the next.

Thank you for sharing your hearts with our guests and for making such meaningful memories together!

It’s planning time for next year's women's retreat, and we want YOU to be a part of it. Have good ideas? Think you're a team player? Or maybe you just want to make some new friends, either way we're interested in seeing you at the planning meeting.
