💜 A beautiful reminder from Dolly Parton.

Her words reflect something at the very heart of the Hoover Service Club—when we have the opportunity to help others, we help.

May we continue to carry that spirit of kindness, service, and generosity forward. 🦋

🌿HSC in the Community | Celebrating Girl Scout Troop 26329🌿

Back in April, members of the Hoover Service Club were honored to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony at Aldridge Gardens for the Little Seed Library, located near the Field Trip Garden. 🌱✂️

This special project was planned and built by Girl Scout Troop 26329 as part of their Girl Scout Silver Award. What a wonderful way for these young ladies to leave a lasting contribution for others to enjoy! 💚

We would also like to recognize Melissa Watts, Troop Leader, and Jaime Merrifield Guess, Assistant Troop Leader, for their leadership and support.

The Hoover Service Club was proud to be there to celebrate the hard work, creativity, and commitment these young ladies put into serving their community.

👏 Congratulations, Girl Scout Troop 26329, on earning your Silver Award and bringing the Little Seed Library to life!

And a special “Thank You!” to Mayor Nick Derzis and Representative Mike Shaw for their amazing and ongoing support of our community. 💙

💙 HSC Serving in Our Community 💙

Several Hoover Service Club members, Heather Lurie Pierce, Amy Russell , Elaine Kopecky Thompson, Debbie Rutherford , & Jenn Sublett, had the pleasure of volunteering at the inaugural Friends of Bella Terra Farm Fundraiser on August 15 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

Friends of Bella Terra Farm is a volunteer-based nonprofit in Columbiana whose mission is to provide hope, healing, and happiness to individuals with disabilities and their families through therapeutic animal interactions. 🐴🐓

The evening included dinner and a silent auction to help raise funds toward the organization’s goal of preparing its land, installing agricultural fencing, and building a barn for the animals.

We are so proud of our HSC members who gave their time to help make the evening a success. One of the things we love most about the Hoover Service Club is the opportunity to not only serve our own projects, but to support and encourage other organizations doing meaningful work in our community. 💙

Thank you to Natalie Portera, Director for Friends of Bella Terra Farm, for allowing us to be a small part of such a special evening!

💙 We’re Back! A New Club Year Begins! 💙

The Hoover Service Club is excited to kick off our 2026–2027 club year on Thursday, September 10 at the Hoover Country Club!

We are delighted to welcome Toni Bruner, Executive Director of Legacy Partners in Environmental Education, as our first guest speaker of the year. 🌿

Toni has an extensive background in environmental education and has dedicated her career to environmental literacy, education, and community engagement throughout Alabama. And here’s something fun about our speaker—she’s also an avid caver who leads educational expeditions in North Alabama! ⛑️🦇

👉 Swipe through the photos to learn more about Toni and see all the details for our September meeting.

We can’t wait to welcome our members back for another wonderful year of friendship, service, and making a difference in our community. 💙
