Civicure Our Mission
CiviCure (Civic & Cultural Restoration Corporation) is a nonprofit dedicated to the revitalization of the greater Hoosick area

Civicure's goal is to enrich the greater Hoosick community by stimulating the creative economy, supporting the preservation and enhancement of the farm economy, and protecting and promoting the beauty of the natural environment while making regional and national audiences aware of the extraordinary resources of the Hoosick area as a destination for visitors. Civicure envisions the arts as a cataly

st for community revitalization. The advancement of the arts, increased tourism and community participation, and regional economic redevelopment are inextricably linked. The arts are an important factor in the creation and bestowal community identity. A strong identity rallies confidence, hope, productivity, pride and economic vibrancy. THE CURRENT KEY INITIATIVE is CiviCureโ€™s stewardship of the Wood Block Building for the purpose of restoring the two acoustically superb large halls of the former opera house to their former glory. Located right in the center of Hoosick Falls, it was built circa 1873 by the Walter A. Wood family, founders of the manufacturing company known internationally for mowing and reaping equipment.

Dreaming of gardens, flowers, and summer? CiviCure's 2026 edition of the Hoosick Blooms fund-raising garden tour needs volunteers to make this year's event, planned for the weekend of July 11, a blooming success. We need help with planning and prep in the weeks leading up to the event and on the tour weekend with delivery of materials and being point people at the gardens. And speaking of gardens, let us know if you have a special or unique one to include on the tour! Send us a message or email to volunteer your time or garden. Thank you and let's dig in! ๐ŸŒผ
