ASCD is the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, a national organization which seeks to prepare educators and administrators as leaders in education. SNHU's ASCD is the school's student chapter of the national organization. We invite all majors to join this club! It is most beneficial for Education and other majors alike, but we would never turn anyone away from attending! ASCD i
s a great opportunity to learn more about the education field, therefore bettering your knowledge of best practices and how to become the best professional you can be. Not to mention, it looks GREAT on a resume! There are local and national conferences that members have a chance to attend! SNHU ASCD's student chapter holds an on-campus conference every year typically in the Spring! Members can attend conferences a few times a year! For example, the 2017 national conference was held in Anaheim, CA, and the 2018 national conference was held in Chicago, IL! Members of SNHU ASCD also have the opportunity to attend monthly events and meetings put on by the wonderful executive board and advisors! Some of our fun off-campus trips have included: going to a corn maze, snow tubing, going to the annual Fanueil Hall tree lighting, and more! Some of our informational professional development meetings have been a Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training, lesson planning 101 event, classroom management techniques, and more! SNHU ASCD is ALWAYS growing and ready to welcome new members! If you are interested, please email [email protected] for more information, or check out our other social media page on Instagram !
