The Place

The Place Welcome to "The PLACE" We will have workshops, guest speakers, college/job fairs, as well as social events like gaming competitions.

The PLACE is going to be a location where older youth and young adults (ages 14-21 years old) can socialize, have fun be a resource for a wealth of information, learn and most importantly, mentor one another. We will also be a place where tutoring can be provided along with access to computers for learning and research purposes. It is a place where older youths and young adult can mentor and aid

each other and make friends. We will also have a volunteer program to meet the need for high school curriculum requirement for volunteering in local areas. As we build while getting to know our members we will be able to give referrals to local businesses seeking potential employment candidates. We would require the employers who want to post on our bulletin board to supply us with a thorough background check of themselves, staff (if necessary) and their business prior posting their job opening(s). This will give any potential employees (our members), their parent and our organization the satisfaction and confidence we can feel they are seeking temporary and/or permanent employment with a safe and secure employer. We will have a hangout area for everyday activities such as socializing. There will be a separate quite area for doing research, reading and homework. However, we do need a little help getting this project off the ground. Any help would be greatly appreciated; "Like" us, your support will go a long way. We will also accept donations of various varieties: computer, furniture, books, software, supplies and financial donations will gracious be appreciated.

We are not giving up and still have not heard from the town hall so on to other options.

I was talking to someone, well more like discussing in an email but anyway, it reminded me that I forgot to update everyone on the new of progress to date.
Sometime ago (last month), a formal proposal to the town hall to see about using their old town hall building as possible location for The Place was submitted! Yup, took that big step; wrote it out, type it up and included an executive summary with full description of what we are all about, what we would like to do and how important and beneficial it would be to the community and abroad by filling a necessary gap in our society while also making great use of the old town hall.

Please keep you fingers crossed, say a pray or whatever best suit a hopeful outcome that we can finally have a place to call home and get the ball truly rolling!
