We will be closed Saturday, September 5, for Labor Day and Saturday, September 12, for the Ho**er Car Show

The ministry wants to thank all of our volunteers who helped today at the ministry. They all did an amazing job helping all the 94 people that needed help. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for all the toys, books, wooden puzzles, and games for all the children. They had so much fun filling their bags. One little guy received the squeaky banana and had a lot of fun squeaking it throughout the ministry. One girl found the Battleship game, but couldn’t find the pieces. I remembered seeing a container of them on the shelf and showed them to her older sister. They were both so excited to have the complete game.

A grandmother was so excited to receive the playpen for her grandchild that is soon to be here. It was a huge relief. Another lady was so happy to get the back carrier that also became a chair for her little boy.

A lady came in with her two daughters and donated two huge bags of children’s hangers. THANK YOU SO MUCH! We always need those. Brenda is requesting all sizes of children’s shoes for all the children and wants to thank you for all the clothing, blankets, and shoes for all the children. They always go so fast. Thanks to Laneta for helping Brenda with the children’s rooms. Thank you!

What a blessing all the bags of yarn were to so many ladies. We started out with about 10 large ziploc bags full of all colors of yarn and when we closed there were two left. Thank you for all the yarn.

Several mothers found math flashcards for their children, a lady found a brand-new hole punch and stapler remover, and others found writing pads. Thank you so much for meeting their needs.

Not long after we opened I received a text from my niece telling about a family that had lost everything in a fire including their two cars and their service dog. She also shared a list of the sizes of clothing and shoes that they needed. Well, we all got busy trying to find as much as we could. Rod found a lot of men’s 2X shirts for the man, Yolanda found shoes for the mother and daughter, and I was going through the clothing for them. I found a few things, and then the Holy Spirit told me to go check the shed. I had already checked it before we opened and there was nothing there, but I went again. Do you know what was in there? Someone had donated sacks and bags full of really nice clothing and shoes. As I began to go through them, I thought Lord, YOU ARE SO GOOD! All the clothes in those sacks and bags were the sizes the daughter needed; small-medium. There were even house shoes and towels and washcloths that we put in the bag! We still needed XL tops and 12-14 pants for the mother. Once again the Lord told me to go check the shed, so I did. This time there was a huge black bag, so I took it in and when I opened it, GUESS WHAT? There were 12-14 jeans, bras and XL tops. WHAT A BLESSING! I know it’s not everything they need, but through your donations, we were able to fill to the brim, two large black trash bags. The Lord knew what they needed. HE IS SO AMAZING! THANK YOU!

Thank you so much for all the ladies jeans and jean shorts, the underwear, dresses, t-shirts, purses, shoes and the ladies’ winter clothing as well. So many ladies found just what they needed.

A man was so relieved when he received three pairs of 32-34 jeans and several shirts. Other men received all the shirts you donated, belts, socks, jeans, shoes, and were so very thankful for all of them. Thank you so much!

A new family came to the ministry today who have moved to Ho**er. Actually, I was her Spanish teacher at Liberal. They had two children, a little girl about one and a little boy that is three. They needed a bed for the little boy. Well, someone had donated a small bed for a little boy. They were so excited to get it. She found several clothes for the children. The little girl was getting tired so she went up to Mianna, crawled in her lap and went sound to sleep. I told Mianna that she had a grandma’s touch. The family also received the black desk that someone donated with a chair and were so excited to have them for their home. Thank you so much for all of your help for this new family.

We have a mother and two children who have been without a refrigerator for several years. She told me she goes everyday to Mills to shop because she has nowhere to keep the food. She said, “We have never been able to afford one.” I know through your donations that you have helped this family with several that they have needed. She would greatly appreciate it if anyone has an extra one they could spare. Thank you so much.

Another lady’s grandson moved into an apartment and needed pots, pans, and other kitchen items, plus a dresser. She was able to find almost everything, even the dresser. She is still needing silverware. Thank you so much for meeting his needs!

A really nice couple came in and told us they had a queen-sized bed to donate, so we asked him to pull up to the front, and we would help them unload it. It was really nice and will be such a blessing to the family that needs it. Thank you so much!

We also want to thank you for the nice wheelchair you donated. It will also be a blessing to the person that receives it. Thank you!

Thank you all so much for all the other things you donated to help so many people.
The twin bed, the blankets, sheets, (a lady was so thankful for the set of full sheets that she received), the shelf, the pictures, the decorations, flowers, the kitchen items, tapes, backpacks, and so many other things. So many families were so grateful to get what they needed.

Prayer of the Week: “The Lord My Deliverer” “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” Psalms 18:2 “My Deliverer, nothing can come to me that does not pass through your hands. Nothing can pierce me that hasn't received your permission. Those are easy words to say, but in the moment, when I’m facing fear and doubt, they’re not so easy to live out. Thank you for the kindness you show me in those times to remind me that you are my deliverer. Thank you for not giving up on me. Thank you for coming to me and whispering time and again your promises of deliverance.” Tony Evans

We take everything except chemicals. We greatly appreciate each donation. Thank you!

We are also asking that all the clothing you donate not be torn, stained or soiled since we have no way of repairing or washing them. Thank you so much for your help.

Thank you so much for allowing the Lord to use you to be His deliverer to help so many families. You are truly a blessing!

We will be closed Saturday, September 5, for Labor Day.

We want to thank the Lutheran Church for their help today. Several of our helpers came early to get everything set up and then attended a funeral or the Cross Country meet. However, the Lord sent us great helpers to fill in. Thank you so much to Rita, who worked in the children’s department, Ricardo, who was off today, and Maria, Yolanda, and Mianna, our regulars. What a blessing!

The lady that received the tan sofa last week was there today, she was so excited. She had to tell us that the sofa was the most comfortable thing she has ever owned. In fact, she has been sleeping on it, since she doesn’t have a bed yet. Today, she received a dresser, a chair, a small cabinet, several pictures for her walls, a computer screen, and several bags full of clothes and other things. I helped her pack her small car, and it was stuffed. She is going to get the chair and the dresser next week. Thank you so much for meeting all of her needs! She felt so blessed!

A lady was so excited to get the basket full of flower bulbs and seeds. Thank you so much for making her day.

The lady that helped with the children’s department today donated several things that people really needed. One lady does a lot of sewing and received a large Ziploc full of different colors of thread. Another lady needed lotions and was so grateful for the ones she received. Then the ministry was down to our last pen, and she donated around thirty pens. We were so very thankful. Another lady needed a yellow ribbon for a project and there was a whole spool of YELLOW RIBBON. The lady was so relieved. Thank you so much for being such a blessing!

All the table cloths met so many needs, as well as, the plastic containers, glassware, cups, glasses, bowls, pitchers, Mr. Coffee, candles, yarn, mops, lights, bedding, towels, dishes, purses, shoes, baskets, clothing, and lamps. Several people found lamps and someone else had donated the light bulbs. Thank you so much for helping so many families.

Several ladies found decorations, knick knacks, flowers and vases, pictures for their walls, and material for sewing. One lady’s yard is so dark, and she needed lights to make it where she could see. Someone donated a box of YARD LIGHTS, and she was so, so grateful. Thank you all so much for meeting so many needs.

A lady came in and told me she had a friend that needed a microwave or toaster oven. I told her that we had given several of those away, but I thought we had one microwave left in the kitchen. I went to look and there it was. I made sure it worked, and it did. She was so excited to be able to give the microwave to her friend. Thank you for meeting her need!

A mother and her daughter returned trying to find things for the daughter’s house. Well, today they were so glad to get the two coffee tables, a cabinet for storage, several cooking pans, and other items she needed. A man helped me lift the coffee tables and put them in her trunk. She drove off with the trunk lid open, but so grateful for everything she received. Thank you for continuing to meet her needs!

What a blessing all the shavers, tools, belts, shoes, jeans, shoes, clothing and socks were for all the men. They were very thankful for everything they received. Thank you!

The kids loved all the puzzles, games, backpacks and books. A little girl was so excited to get the Barbie house and the little kitchenette that you donated. She was smiling from ear to ear. Another child really liked the bat and gloves you donated, and all the balls. Thank you so much!

Someone donated a box full of men’s winter pants and tops. Thank you so much. Those will be a blessing to so many men this winter.

Someone else donated a bag full of ladies’ underwear and leggings that was really needed. It is really difficult to keep that bin restocked. Thank you!

Thank you so much for all the youth, children and baby clothing, shoes, blankets, and other items you donated for all the children. Brenda had everything ready to go when we opened, and Rita put up all the donations and restocked the rooms throughout the morning. Thank you for all your help!

We had several people that needed printers, so all the ones you donated were a real blessing! They were all so excited to get them. Thank you!

A lady came to the ministry looking for a Christmas tree to make a costume for her daughter, and we had only one. She said it will work! Thank you for meeting her need!

There is a lady who makes flannel diapers for missions and would really appreciate it if anyone has any white flannel to donate. It has to be white. Thank you so much for helping her help others meet their needs.

Prayer of the Week: “Lord God of Hosts” “You, O Lord God of Hosts, the God of Israel, awake to punish all the nations; do not be gracious to any who are treacherous in iniquity.” Psalm 59:5 Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, you have power over all. You are a God of justice and might. We praise you for your skill and perfection. We bless your name for your strength and intensity. We honor you because you are the Lord God of hosts. Armies bow before you. No weapon is stronger than you. No strategy can outwit you. No enemy can overrun you. We bless you as you command the armies to act on our behalf.” “Tony Evans”

Special needs: Maternity clothes, blender, silverware, XL men’s shirts and sweatpants, size 7-8 boys clothes for school, sizes 7-9 men’s tennis shoes, CD music tapes for kids, baby walker, men’s dress pants size 32-38 (tall), TVs, shoes in all sizes, especially youth to young teens, sofas, a television, refrigerator, diapers (all sizes), washer and dryer, children’s books, furniture of any kind, especially living room and kitchen tables and chairs, fans, pajamas and gowns, men’s and women’s jeans, lamps, TOYS, belts, dressers, full, queen and king sheets, bedspreads, chairs, purses, dishes, pots and pans, glasses, cups, cooking utensils, plastic ware, curtains, adult underwear, bras, shoes of all sizes kids-adults, especially tennis shoes, lotions, towels (both bath and kitchen), glassware, and any other items you want to donate. We take everything except chemicals. We greatly appreciate each donation. Thank you!

Thank you all for all you do to keep the ministry open and help so many families. May the Lord bless each one of you abundantly.

“We Are the Humble Servants of the People’s Generosity”
Please Take All Donation to: 304 West Illinois

A big thank you to the AFM Board 1 for all their help today at the ministry. What a wonderful job they did helping so many people with all the donations you gave. What a blessing! They were truly all donated in God’s timing!

As we were going through the bags we weren’t able to unpack last week, we found two bags full of really nice ladies’ hoodies, tops, sizes 4-8 shorts and pajamas (S-XL), 9 ½ shoes, coats, and several other items. A lady that is recovering from breast cancer was able to use several pairs of the soft pajamas. She was so very grateful for those. Several ladies needed pairs of the 9 ½ shoes, which were really nice. A lady asked for size 4 shorts, and she was so excited to receive several pairs with tops to match. There were also lotions for the ladies. Thank you so much for meeting so many needs!

After we opened, Andy, Seth, Ricardo and I went to a ladies’ house to get several items from her trailer in front of her house. She had an airfryer toaster oven, a microwave, bathroom faucet and shower head, a large scale, a radio, and several other things that people needed. When we returned, we were able to unload all the donations right away. However, a man asked for the microwave, and I went to the pickup to get it. He couldn’t believe it. He was holding his little boy, so I carried it to his van. He was so relieved to get it. Another lady didn’t have an oven, so the airfryer oven was just what she needed. A man needed a faucet for his bathroom and the radio, another lady needed the shower head, a little guy needed the bike helmet, and all the other items were needed by others. People would ask for something, and our helpers would go bring what they needed in for them. They had no idea what we had in the pickup. It was again God’s timing! What a wonderful blessing for so many people! Thank you so much!

She also donated two book shelves that are going to two different families. We are going to get those tomorrow for them! Thank you again!

A man and his wife pulled up in front of the ministry with a sofa, a love seat, a sewing machine, a small table and chairs, a bag full of ladies’ shoes size 11, socks, and a bag full of ladies’ and men’s jeans. What happened next was truly God’s timing! There were three ladies in the ministry at one time that wore SIZE 11 SHOES! They all found several pairs to wear and were so excited to get them. Then a lady came in earlier and told me she had lost everything, so Mianna gave her as many bags as she asked for to get the things we had that she needed. She also told me she needed a couch. Well, I told her a couch had just come in, and when she saw it, I thought she was going to cry. It was so nice. She called her husband to bring their suburban, and they were going to try to put the couch in it. While we were waiting for him to arrive, another man had needed a small table and when he saw the one they had, he said, “It was just perfect! PRAISE THE LORD! A man asked about a sewing machine and when the guys were unloading, she said, “And this is a SEWING MACHINE.” He was so excited, and his friend came to help him load it in his pickup. Then he came back to help unload the sofa and the loveseat. Well, the ladies’ husband returned with a suburban that was in rough shape. He was trying to get the back seat down so the couch would fit. Ricardo was trying to help him, but the seat wouldn’t budge. I began to pray that the Lord would help it release, and IT DID! Do you know they were able to get the couch and all the cushions in that suburban and the back door closed? God’s timing! They were so happy and grateful. There was a man and his wife that really needed chairs that would give them back support. When the lady saw the loveseat, that was actually two recliners put together, she sat down on it, and couldn’t believe how it helped her back. She was so excited. She said, “It was definitely an answer to their prayers and was just thanking the Lord for his goodness to their family! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING RIGHT ON TIME AND MEETING SO MANY NEEDS! YOU ARE TRULY A BLESSING!

Another family came in who needed a large table and chairs for their family. Remember the man that needed a smaller table and chairs? Well, he donated his larger table because he didn’t have enough room for it. When the family came in and saw it, they asked if they could have it, and we told them of course. He had a van, so the guys helped him to carry it out, and he said he would fit all in his van, and HE DID! It was a large table, a leaf for it and four chairs. I know the Lord helped him get all that in his van. They were all so excited! Isn’t the Lord so GOOD?

Another lady needed a small desk, and a lady had donated it last week. She was so proud to get it. A man came to pick up the twin bed and frame he needed. He was so thankful for it. Thank you so much for meeting their needs!

A man had asked me last week for a large TV, and when I checked the donation bin, there it was. I left it there, because he told me he would be back this week to see if one had come in and sure enough, he did. When he came into the ministry, I let him know his TV was in the donation shed. He hurried out the front door, backed his pickup up to the donation shed and loaded it from there, and Yolanda gave him the remote control for it. He was grinning from ear to ear when he saw it. Thank you so much!

Another man needed a mattress, and took the one you had donated in the shed. He was so very thankful for it. Thank you so much!

A lady was so excited to get the two round blue chairs that open up. They were perfect for her! Thank you!

You blessed so many families with clothing, shoes, kitchen utensils, plastic ware, pots and pans, shoes, children’s clothing, rugs, jeans, school clothing, socks, underwear, adult pads,
decorations, pillows, storage containers, men’s suits, lotions, shampoos, personal items, coffee pot, yarn, frames, books, bedding, towels, and so much more. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Brenda had to be gone today, but we were so thankful for Laneta, who stepped in and did a super job helping so many families! Thank you!

The kid’s slide, jungle gym, the little car, and the large water toy were a big hit at the ministry today. Everyone wanted them, but the first families that asked for them received them. The kids found toys, stuffed animals, puzzles, games, books, and backpacks! They loved them all! Thank you!

Prayer of the Week: “My HIgh Tower” “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” Psalm 18:2 “The Lord My High Tower, you are my rock, my f fortress, and my deliverer. You are the one in whom I take refuge, When I’m up against a wall and the enemy is aiming his fiery darts at me to try to take me down, you My High Tower, are my shield. I lift up your name in praise because you alone are the horn of my salvation and my strong hold. Nothing else can deliver me from the evil clutch of death that threatens my hopes, dreams, and relationships. In you alone I find my high tower, to which I run for safety. “Tony Evans”

Special needs: Maternity clothes, blender, silverware, XL men’s shirts and sweatpants, size 7-8 boys clothes for school, sizes 7-9 men’s tennis shoes, CD music tapes for kids, size 5 diapers, baby walker, men’s dress pants size 32-38 (tall), full-sized mattress, one TV, shoes in all sizes, especially youth to young teens, sofas, a television, refrigerator, diapers (all sizes), washer and dryer, children’s books, furniture of any kind, especially living room and kitchen tables and chairs, fans, pajamas and gowns, men’s and women’s jeans, lamps, TOYS, belts, dressers, full, queen and king sheets, bedspreads, chairs, purses, dishes, pots and pans, glasses, cups, cooking utensils, plastic ware, curtains, adult underwear, bras, shoes of all sizes kids-adults, especially tennis shoes, lotions, towels (both bath and kitchen), glassware, and any other items you want to donate. We take everything except chemicals. We greatly appreciate each donation. Thank you!

Everyone kept thanking us for all the things they received. I simply reminded them that all of it came from the Lord to meet their needs, and they needed to thank him. They all looked surprised, and said, “YES, IT SURE DID!” Thank you for allowing the Lord to use you to meet so many needs!

What a busy week for the volunteers at the ministry and a super busy day today. So many peoples’ needs were met! Thank you all so much!

I was not able to write the article for last week. We had to go out of town after the ministry closed, so I am combining it with this week.

We want to thank the Lutheran Church for all the candy they bagged in baggies for the kids. Mianna made sure all the children received one. The kids were so excited. Thank you so much!

The James family brought all of Jo Deans’ clothing, shoes, pajamas, and purses to the ministry which were all XS and small. They were such a blessing to so many of the smaller ladies, who were so grateful for everything they received. Thank you so much!

When I went to Yukon, my sister’s friend was moving so she sent a lot of bedding, pots, pans, towels, blankets, rugs, and several other household items. Over 10 different families were helped with her donations. Thank you for being such a blessing!

I had put in the needs section that a girl needed a pair of size 11 cleats. Well, not only did someone donate a really nice pair of size 11 blue and white softball cleats, but they also donated another pair of school shoes for her. What a wonderful blessing! Thank you so much for meeting her needs!

All the coats, jackets, hoodies, gloves, hats and boots that you are donating will be wonderful when the weather turns cooler. Thank you so much!

Not one of the men’s shirts with Bible verses and Christian logos that you donated last week were left that I saw. What a wonderful testimony for others when they wear their shirts and share God’s word! Thank you!

Thank you so much for all the beautiful dresses, school clothes, backpacks, pants, shoes, jeans, and other items you all donated for the children and teens going back to school. There were about 11 backpacks this morning and not one of them was left. So many needs met! Thank you so much!

The children loved all the stuffed animals, games, books, toys, dolls, Barbie furniture, cars, coloring books, an Easy-Bake Oven, and even a small trampoline. The little girl that received the oven was so excited to start cooking, and an older brother came in to pick up the things that he had requested and his four younger siblings were so excited to get the trampoline. They jumped on it while he and our helpers were loading the pickup. Thanks to Rod for helping him get the tie downs fixed.

This past week I had a call from a lady that was having an estate sale and wanted to know if the ministry would take what was left that we could use. I told her yes. She needed us to pick it up on Tuesday morning at 9:00. Well, I began praying for more lifters because that morning we had: Andy, Yolanda and myself. God is always so faithful. When Yolanda came to the ministry, she had one of her sons who can lift a lot!
Then I remembered Ricardo told me he was off this week, so I called him, and he was happy to help. So we all headed out with two pickups, a small car and a suburban. When we arrived and walked in, Yolanda and I went room by room packing things and the guys loaded the vehicles with the furniture. When all the vehicles were loaded we came back to Ho**er. When we arrived at the ministry two pickups were waiting to unload several items, and Brenda was coming to meet them. Well, we all unloaded all the vehicles and decided to eat and then head back to Liberal to get another load. Brenda asked me if we needed another pickup, and I said, “Oh yes! That would be wonderful. So she and Trent went with us on our second load! We loaded up every vehicle again and returned to Ho**er and unloaded them. We then headed back to Liberal for the final load. Needless to say, we were all exhausted, but all very grateful for all the donations. The mission was packed. So some of us stayed to put some of the things up, and the rest in the kitchen and the prayer room. After all was done and said, we ended up hauling 17 loads in three trips and every vehicle was full to capacity every time. What a wonderful blessing! Thank you so much for thinking of the ministry and everyone who helped.

I began to make calls to people who had requested all the furniture and asked them to please come today to pick them up, and they did. Through the estate sale and the two pickups that were waiting at the ministry, the ministry gave away: four dressers, two bookcases, an entertainment center, a dining table with six chairs, two beds, two large desks, two couches, two large chairs, two large fans, an upright cabinet, a rolling shelf and so much more including household items, kitchen items, clothing, shoes, decorations, toys, and storage tubs. When we opened today, you could hardly get through the door, when we closed, it was almost empty! ISN’T THE LORD SO GOOD! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

We also want to thank all the men who were looking for items who stopped and helped us load all the things for all the people, while Seth, Ricardo and Andy went to pick up three chairs for a lady and deliver them to her house, and get other things from another lady who had several tubs of household items and several books. So many people were so happy to get the books and cookbooks. Thank you so much for all your donations!

Then two ladies pulled up in the back with a pickup full of donations of household items and clothing. A family needed glasses and knives and there they were! Another lady needed a toilet chair for someone in her family and there it was! All the ladies loved all the snowmen decorations. We were so busy that we didn’t have time to unpack all of their donations, but we will before next week! Thank you so much for being such a blessing!

I know Brenda and Rod were extremely busy in the children’s room trying to keep the racks full for all the parents looking for school clothes and shoes. Maria and Yolanda were busy trying to keep all the adult racks restocked as well. Mianna did a great job helping me up front making sure everyone received all the furniture they had requested and taking care of the sign-in table. A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED! May the Lord bless each one of you and all of you who donated to make it happen.

The tables donated in the donation bin will go to families who have requested those. Thank you for all the donations you put in there. They helped so many families.

A lady needed protein shakes for her uncle and someone donated a whole box of them. She was also able to use the protein gelatin cups that you donated as well.

Thank you for all the hair shampoos, hair sprays, lotions, candles, sunscreen, jewelry, flowers, and hand sanitizers. All the ladies loved those.

We have had several requests for suitcases and seven came in today! All needs met!
Thank you so much!

Prayer of the Week: “Everlasting God” “For this God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end.” Psalm 48:14 “Everlasting God, you are my God forever and ever. You will be my guide even to the end. In you there is no beginning and there is no end. I am never afraid that you will abandon me by leaving me unexpectedly. Neither will you cease to exist. I know you now, and I will know you in eternity, and even more so, for then I will see you face-to-face. You are worthy of all praise and adoration. You are worthy of my highest honor and deepest respect.” Tony Evans

Special needs: Sizes 7-9 men’s tennis shoes, CD music tapes for kids, size 5 diapers, baby walker, men’s dress pants size 32-38 (tall), full-sized mattress, two TV’s, shoes in all sizes, especially youth to young teens, sofas, a television, refrigerator, we have had several request for small tables, diapers (all sizes), one washer, children’s books, furniture of any kind, especially living room and kitchen tables and chairs, fans, maternity clothes, pajamas and gowns, men’s and women’s jeans, lamps, TOYS, belts, dressers, full, queen and king sheets, bedspreads, chairs, purses, dishes, pots and pans, glasses, cups, cooking utensils, plastic ware, curtains, adult underwear, bras, shoes of all sizes kids-adults, especially tennis shoes, lotions, towels (both bath and kitchen), glassware, and any other items you want to donate.
