Please Take All Donation to: 304 West Illinois
We will be closed Saturday, September 5, for Labor Day and Saturday, September 12, for the Ho**er Car Show
The ministry wants to thank all of our volunteers who helped today at the ministry. They all did an amazing job helping all the 94 people that needed help. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for all the toys, books, wooden puzzles, and games for all the children. They had so much fun filling their bags. One little guy received the squeaky banana and had a lot of fun squeaking it throughout the ministry. One girl found the Battleship game, but couldn’t find the pieces. I remembered seeing a container of them on the shelf and showed them to her older sister. They were both so excited to have the complete game.
A grandmother was so excited to receive the playpen for her grandchild that is soon to be here. It was a huge relief. Another lady was so happy to get the back carrier that also became a chair for her little boy.
A lady came in with her two daughters and donated two huge bags of children’s hangers. THANK YOU SO MUCH! We always need those. Brenda is requesting all sizes of children’s shoes for all the children and wants to thank you for all the clothing, blankets, and shoes for all the children. They always go so fast. Thanks to Laneta for helping Brenda with the children’s rooms. Thank you!
What a blessing all the bags of yarn were to so many ladies. We started out with about 10 large ziploc bags full of all colors of yarn and when we closed there were two left. Thank you for all the yarn.
Several mothers found math flashcards for their children, a lady found a brand-new hole punch and stapler remover, and others found writing pads. Thank you so much for meeting their needs.
Not long after we opened I received a text from my niece telling about a family that had lost everything in a fire including their two cars and their service dog. She also shared a list of the sizes of clothing and shoes that they needed. Well, we all got busy trying to find as much as we could. Rod found a lot of men’s 2X shirts for the man, Yolanda found shoes for the mother and daughter, and I was going through the clothing for them. I found a few things, and then the Holy Spirit told me to go check the shed. I had already checked it before we opened and there was nothing there, but I went again. Do you know what was in there? Someone had donated sacks and bags full of really nice clothing and shoes. As I began to go through them, I thought Lord, YOU ARE SO GOOD! All the clothes in those sacks and bags were the sizes the daughter needed; small-medium. There were even house shoes and towels and washcloths that we put in the bag! We still needed XL tops and 12-14 pants for the mother. Once again the Lord told me to go check the shed, so I did. This time there was a huge black bag, so I took it in and when I opened it, GUESS WHAT? There were 12-14 jeans, bras and XL tops. WHAT A BLESSING! I know it’s not everything they need, but through your donations, we were able to fill to the brim, two large black trash bags. The Lord knew what they needed. HE IS SO AMAZING! THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for all the ladies jeans and jean shorts, the underwear, dresses, t-shirts, purses, shoes and the ladies’ winter clothing as well. So many ladies found just what they needed.
A man was so relieved when he received three pairs of 32-34 jeans and several shirts. Other men received all the shirts you donated, belts, socks, jeans, shoes, and were so very thankful for all of them. Thank you so much!
A new family came to the ministry today who have moved to Ho**er. Actually, I was her Spanish teacher at Liberal. They had two children, a little girl about one and a little boy that is three. They needed a bed for the little boy. Well, someone had donated a small bed for a little boy. They were so excited to get it. She found several clothes for the children. The little girl was getting tired so she went up to Mianna, crawled in her lap and went sound to sleep. I told Mianna that she had a grandma’s touch. The family also received the black desk that someone donated with a chair and were so excited to have them for their home. Thank you so much for all of your help for this new family.
We have a mother and two children who have been without a refrigerator for several years. She told me she goes everyday to Mills to shop because she has nowhere to keep the food. She said, “We have never been able to afford one.” I know through your donations that you have helped this family with several that they have needed. She would greatly appreciate it if anyone has an extra one they could spare. Thank you so much.
Another lady’s grandson moved into an apartment and needed pots, pans, and other kitchen items, plus a dresser. She was able to find almost everything, even the dresser. She is still needing silverware. Thank you so much for meeting his needs!
A really nice couple came in and told us they had a queen-sized bed to donate, so we asked him to pull up to the front, and we would help them unload it. It was really nice and will be such a blessing to the family that needs it. Thank you so much!
We also want to thank you for the nice wheelchair you donated. It will also be a blessing to the person that receives it. Thank you!
Thank you all so much for all the other things you donated to help so many people.
The twin bed, the blankets, sheets, (a lady was so thankful for the set of full sheets that she received), the shelf, the pictures, the decorations, flowers, the kitchen items, tapes, backpacks, and so many other things. So many families were so grateful to get what they needed.
Prayer of the Week: “The Lord My Deliverer” “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” Psalms 18:2 “My Deliverer, nothing can come to me that does not pass through your hands. Nothing can pierce me that hasn't received your permission. Those are easy words to say, but in the moment, when I’m facing fear and doubt, they’re not so easy to live out. Thank you for the kindness you show me in those times to remind me that you are my deliverer. Thank you for not giving up on me. Thank you for coming to me and whispering time and again your promises of deliverance.” Tony Evans
