Gorge Sailing Center No experience necessary! 2017 will be our 12th summer teaching sailing, seamanship, and water safety to the Gorge community.

The Gorge Sailing Center (previously known as Gorge Junior Sailing) offers sailing classes for kids, teens, and adults of all abilities; beginner, intermediate, and advanced sailors. This marks our 6th season utilizing C420s and offering adult courses. Beginner classes will be held in the confines of the Hood River Marina; Intermediate and advanced classes will have opportunities to sail on the ri

Almost all of our high school sailors were introduced to the team through out Intro to High School Sailing Camp. It teaches sailors the basics of sailboat racing and is taught by our very own high school sailors. It’s a chance for sailors already on the team to teach newcomers the ropes. Got a kiddo who is curious about boats and water? Our minnows program for 5 to 8 year olds is the perfect introduction to sailing! Parents/guardians join the fun, helping with knots, rigging, and sailing. Kids get a chance to take the helm with either a parent or junior instructor. No experience needed for either of you. This class is for those going into 7th-12th grade and are interested in racing, and potentially joining the Gorge Sailing Team, our high school racing program.
