First, thanks to all the firefighters and resources protecting people and property for our community. Next, we had planned a workparty in the network for this weekend and obviously that is cancelled but we wanted to take this opportunity to also make you aware of the closures in the 44 network.

The Forest Service issued this updated forest closure and the details are at this link. We have attached a map but if any questions, the link is the source. This closure is effective until 12/31/26 but realistically it is going to be longer than that before anyone can access the network.

https://www.fs.usda.gov/r06/mthood/alerts/closure-place-grasshopper-fire

We all are heartbroken about this but it’s very important for all of us to follow this order to best support the firefighters, Forest Service and everyone's safety. We are actively in conversation with the Forest Service and preparing for whatever the future will hold. It will be a while but stay tuned here and we will keep you posted.

Be smart and safe out there,
44T BOD

We have received this from the US Forest Service…

Good Evening, we have an ongoing incident on the east zone of the forest. We will be issuing a forest closure that encompasses the boulder creek network up to the southern 44 network to where gunsight meets gumnjuwac. A forest order closure map will be released through official channels tomorrow but I wanted to give everyone the heads up now
