We are associated with, but independent from the Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum (WAAAM) located at the Ken Jernstedt airport (4S2) in Hood River, Oregon. As of August 2017 we are maintaining and flying a 1953 Piper Pacer PA 22/20 (tail wheel), and a Piper Cherokee 160. Our slogan is: Fly History with the WVFA. The historic town of Hood River is located at the confluence of the Colu

mbia and Hood rivers in the scenic Columbia River Gorge. Hood are visible to the north and south respectively. The Hood River valley is surrounded by bucolic farm country and fruit orchards. The WAAAM museum has a large collection of driving/flying antique cars and airplanes, mostly maintained by volunteers. The museum has an active calendar of events. The airport has an FBO, and both asphalt and grass runways. There is currently a soaring club on the field. These factors make Hood River a great place to fly, and a great aviation community. The WVFA offers a unique opportunity to offset the costs of flying by volunteering at the museum and doing some of our own maintenance. This makes our rental rates very compelling.
