Summer at Teacup: Camps, Clinics & More!
Nordic skiing doesn't have to stop when the snow melts. This summer, Teacup has something for skiers of all ages to keep the stoke going. The Teacup / Mt. Hood Nordic coaches are hosting two overnight youth summer camps in July, and spots are filling up. U16+ in Trout Lake, WA July 13-17 and U12-U14 in Parkdale, OR July 27-29.
We'll also be hosting roller ski clinics throughout June and July:

7:10AM grooming report for Friday, April 17th. 21 degrees, clear skies and no wind. Yesterday’s powder has transformed into crunchy and fast snow! I have the snowmobile and Tidd Tech out scratching up the surface of the same trails that were groomed yesterday. With the higher sun angle the snow is melting quick, so this will unfortunately be the last day of grooming unless we receive another snowstorm. Waxless skis recommended for classic. Skating will be a little lumpy and fast this morning! Walking to the cabin is your best bet. From there, there are a couple thin spots on the road (use rock skis), but decent coverage on Teatime and Nordic Way. See you on the trails and Happy Spring from all of us at Teacup! -Jason

8:30AM grooming report for Thursday, April 16th. Another 6”+ of snow fell overnight. No wind this morning and sunny bluebird skies! From the cabin to Nordic Junction and around Teatime has been snowmobile rolled with multiple laps this morning. The snow is silky smooth blue/violet hardwax snow. If you’re wanting to take in a beautiful winter landscape, today will certainly deliver that! Classic skiing is probably best as the snow is soft. Have a great day on the trails if you venture out! -Jason

11:25AM conditions report for Wednesday, April 15th. 4-8” of new snow, breezy, and whiteout conditions every now and then. Some light snowmobile rolling has been done from the cabin to Nordic Junction plus Tea Time and Nordic Way. If we pick up a little more snow it could be decent classic touring on Thursday and Friday morning. There’s gravel right under the surface on the road, so use your rocks skis:). The winter landscape is beautiful if you’ve been missing the snow. Keep in mind the parking lot plowing is likely to be minimal. Happy April from Teacup!

2025-2026 End of Season Letter from the Teacup Board President:

Hello Teacup / Mt. Hood Nordic Community,

The 2025-2026 season was challenging due to warm weather that affected snow levels throughout the West Coast. As it comes to a close, we want to express our immense gratitude for your role in the Teacup community.

While we can’t control the weather, we can control how we respond to it. Night after night, Jason and Erik worked like masons at a fragile wall, rebuilding and reinforcing the trails, moving and stacking snow, and repairing areas where water repeatedly ate away at the snowpack.

Because of their hard work and effort, the overall quality of the Teacup grooming was incredible. Congratulations to those of you who were fortunate enough to enjoy the extraordinary corduroy and ski during the beautiful sunny and cold days in January and February! Even in a lean year, our grooming team’s dedication to quality ensured Teacup was a place where people could make the most of every skiable day.

3pm conditions report for Friday, March 20th 2026. The extremely warm temperatures this week have continued to deteriorate the snow at Teacup. There are no skiable loops remaining and we have made the difficult decision to postpone grooming for the foreseeable future. 😢 We are fully committed to getting back out there and will groom if the snow starts to fall again. The last picture is from almost exactly a year ago on March 21st, 2025. What a contrast! Stay tuned for more end-of-season updates coming soon!

Conditions Update for Tuesday, March 17th. After a thorough examination of the Teacup trail system today we are making the difficult decision to postpone grooming operations until we receive more favorable conditions. With high temperatures pushing 60 degrees and no overnight temperatures below freezing, we are headed the wrong direction at the moment. We are tentatively planning to ease the groomers out if we can on Saturday morning to create at least some skiing for the weekend. This will only be possible if the temperatures drop below freezing. The 2026 Glides of March Race scheduled for Saturday, March 21st has been canceled. 😢Hopefully the long-term forecast will bring some more snow and colder temperatures. Stay tuned!

6:10AM grooming report for Monday, March 16th. Temps have been 36-42 degrees during grooming and breezy. The warm weather has continued to erode the snow, with many areas of the trails washed out by water. Where there is snow the skiing is nice, but watch for thin spots out there! Lakeside, most of the road, spruce, tea time, Mountain View, Gray Jay and Top Shelf are the best options for finding good snow. With the warm temps in the forecast, come enjoy the trails today while you still can!

5:45AM grooming report for Sunday, March 15th. Temps have been 21-24 degrees during grooming. The snow froze up enough to open up some of the trails for skiing today. There are thin spots here and there, but the parking lot accesses, Lakeside, Tea Time, Gray Jay, Mountain View, Stump Street, Hood River Road, Larch Lane and Meadow are groomed. Trails that haven’t been groomed are closed. Classic wax will be universal klister this morning. Have a great Sunday on the trails and enjoy what is left of the snow!

5:05AM conditions report for Saturday, March 14th. The temperature has dropped to 32 degrees, but heavy rains have created lakes and rivers on the trails with no way to cross in many spots. There are some sections that are skiable, but with the bare spots and water hazards out there our recommendation is to stay off the trails. Many trails have washed out areas down to dirt. We were hopeful we wouldn’t receive so much rain! 😢
