We simply don’t have the room — we’re purging select items to create a safer, cleaner, more enjoyable experience at GRC, and we need your help.

These donation-based items are separate from our regular inventory, which is still regularly priced. We just have quite a bit right now that we need to move out.

For these select purge items, you choose the donation amount — even a couple of dollars helps. It’s more important to us that they find a new home than that we get a certain price for them.

Each day, some of these items will have to be dismantled and sent to the landfill or scrap bin — even the Coke machine. Please stop by, take a look, and help us give them a second life before that happens.

SATURDAY SPOTLIGHT 🌟

This beautiful wooden wardrobe recently came to us from the family of a longtime local resident, and it is one of those donations that feels extra special.

Just look at the craftsmanship — the carved details, paneled doors, original-style hardware, deep drawers, and all that character. Pieces like this just aren’t something you see every day.

We’re incredibly grateful when local families choose GRC as a place for meaningful pieces like this to have another chapter instead of being discarded — and especially when they choose to donate locally, where their items directly support a small community nonprofit and the people we serve right here in the Gorge.

Okay, today is one of those you should probably just come see what’s here days. 😄

We got in some really beautiful solid wood doors, plus there are deals all over the store and a TON of stuff we’re giving away FREE today.

And then there’s the old Coke machine…

🔥 POLYISO FOAM — PRICE DROP! 🔥

We brought in two loads of Polyiso foam, and you all have already made a pretty good dent in it — but we still have almost a full load left.

So we’re dropping the price another $2 inch per 4x8 sheets and offering additional discounts on bundles.

This is already a great deal on quality insulation, and we want to move this load FAST so we can bring in another one.

We have some seriously good stuff going on at the GRC right now after the weekend...

The big three we’re especially excited about:

• 28 triple-pane vinyl windows
• A large amount of metal siding
• And some beautiful finishing trim

Those are the headline acts.

But, because this is the GRC, that is definitely not the whole story.

As usual, the store is full of a completely random mix of useful, beautiful, strange, practical and “wait…when did THAT get here?” items. Some of it is new. Some of it has been here quietly hiding in plain sight waiting for the right person to notice it.

And right now the mix is especially good.

Check out this slightly ridiculous list of other things we currently have going on in the store:

We’re celebrating National Thrift Shop Day a little early today! ♻️

National Thrift Shop Day is officially Monday, August 17 — which, ironically, is also our Executive Director’s birthday. Since we’re closed Mondays, we decided Saturday is the perfect day to celebrate. 🎉

Today’s staff picks are a pretty good example of what makes the GRC so much fun.

Two team members chose this gorgeous curved-glass china closet — beautiful dark wood, glass sides, curved shelving and tons of character. It’s one of those pieces that really stands out.

We also have a beautiful Bohemia crystal decanter and glass set, an aluminum automotive radiator with dual electric fans, and a really unusual set of landscape tiles that fit together like a puzzle to create a larger scene.

And don’t forget the building materials! Right now we have beautiful fir lumber and a good stock of polyiso foam insulation.

From lumber and insulation to vintage furniture, automotive parts and one-of-a-kind treasures, you really never know what you’ll find at the GRC.

🚨 GORGE REBUILD-IT CENTER CLOSED TODAY 🚨

Due to very unhealthy air quality caused by wildfire smoke, the Gorge Rebuild-It Center will be closed today to protect the health of our staff, volunteers, and community.

Because much of our work takes place outdoors, we’ve made the decision to close for the day.

We will reassess conditions tomorrow morning and provide an update on whether we can safely reopen.
