We can tell you what it's going to be next Thursday night, October 22, from 5-7 p.m:

Pulled BBQ Pork slow-roasted on site with our new smoker (thank you 100 Women Who Care - Benzie County)
Baked Beans (house-made), Chips
Homemade Cole Slaw (thank you Frankfort A&W Restaurant and Drive-In)
A variety of pie (thank you Grand Traverse Pie Company)
Pumpkin Donuts (thank you Crescent Bakery and Cafe)
Apple C***r or/Lemonade

(Jackfruit BBQ for vegetarians, and beef hot dogs for kids)

Served by local celebrities (watch for names!)
Offering a great selection of silent auction items (watch for the list!)

Free will donations gratefully accepted--all proceeds support older adults in Benzie County

One of our most requested services has had a waiting list now for quite some time. This is for "Homemaker", which is a program assisting people with cleaning tasks such as mopping, vacuuming, dusting, dishes, shower/tub, and laundry. These are the types of tasks that become physically difficult as people get older, and having a bit of help can make all the difference in the ability to live independently at home.

Spring/summer is a difficult season to hire homemakers because as a non-profit, we are not able to compete with private sector pay. Homemakers can make excellent money in our area by cleaning short-term rentals.

Our cleaners are not employees, they are contracted service providers who have other regular clients and provide their own insurance.

What are the advantages of cleaning for Benzie Senior Resources’ clients? We offer year-round work, the ability to develop relationship with some wonderful people who have a lot to share, and the knowledge that you're truly making a difference in someone's life. Also, flexible hours and up to full-time work if desired.
