Today we gathered in love, healing, & remembrance to complete our 20th “Drive with Aloha” mural at Waimea High School on Kaua‘i; a moment that touched every heart in attendance in ways words can barely capture.
We were deeply honored by the presence & powerful words of guest speakers Derek Kawakami, Student Body President Lucy N., Waimea VP Denise K., Kumu Parongao, Laycie W., beloved sister of Kailon Tyndzik & victim advocate. Their voices carried the weight of our shared mission to protect our keiki & honor those we’ve lost. Mahalo nui loa for standing with us!
The true power of this day was the young students; the future of our islands, rolled up their sleeves & poured their hearts into every element of the program They listened, felt & committed to change. You could see it in their eyes: the moment the message of ALOHA on the road truly landed. This program isn’t just paint on a wall; it’s planting seeds of safer choices that will save lives for years to come. These students are now the ones carrying our loved one’s legacy forward, choosing compassion over speed, presence over impairment, & aloha over risk.
The mural program is dedicated to all who have lost a loved one & been impacted by impaired driving crashes — and today, it lives on strongest through the students who will never forget.

🤍 REMEMBER KAILON TYNDZIK 🤍

💙REMEMBER KAILON TYNDZIK💙
Waimea High School
Our friend Kailon Tyndzik was hit by a reckless driver on February 12th, 2025. He was 30 years old when his life was taken unexpectedly & horrifically by someone who failed to render aid…
Our team is impacted greatly by the tragic death of Kailon Tyndzik. We are currently painting a new “Drive with Aloha” Mural at Waimea High School on Kaua’i, our 20th installation within the program, at almost the exact same time as Kauai High School last year. In 2025, we were devastated to learn that Kailon was hit during, less than one mile from the school as we were doing the program.
As victim advocates, we are doing our best to share life-saving information with the students of Waimea High School while working together on a collaborative mural with the community.
Mahalo nui to Laycie W. for your bravery & strength to share how much Kailon impacted the community & the hope for all the keiki he mentored to share “mauka to makai” activities with future generations.
Mahalo nui Kauai Police Department (Traffic Division), Coach Bobby& Ho’okele Coalition for all your support & wisdom that you shared with the students.
Impaired driving crashes & deaths are 100% avoidable; no one should have to bury their children. Please make good choices and stay safe.

Today we celebrated our 19th “Drive with Aloha” mural completion at Henry Perrine Baldwin High in Wailuku, Maui. We are honored to be recognized by Mayor Bissen & the County of Maui today; we were personally presented with a Mayoral Proclamation for the efforts educating youth on safer driving practices. Mahalo for recognizing & awarding this impactful program!
In attendance for the unveiling were the Maui Coalition for a Drug Free Youth, the parents of Hannah Brown & Kai‘o Fukushima, other victim advocates & all of the students who participated in the mural program sign painting workshop, community collaboration day & all school assembly. Kahu Trinette Furtado opened the unveiling with a powerful blessing.
The next mural & 20th statewide will be on Kaua‘i at Waimea High School, which will be extremely heartfelt as we are returning a year after our close friend Kailon Tyndzik was killed.
This mural program is dedicated to all who have lost a loved one & impacted by impaired driving crashes.

💙 HANNAH BROWN 💙
Maui High School
“Hannah Brown was killed by a drunk driver on June 23, 2019. She was only 19 years old when her life was taken unexpectedly… She had so much life & was always so happy. You would never go a day without seeing her smiling. She enjoyed being around our family & canoe paddling. One of my greatest memory of Hannah is watching her graduate from high school. She worked so hard for it & made us so very proud. As her parents, we ask that you don’t get behind the wheel & drive if you decide to drink. Get a taxi, ride share or ask someone who hasn’t been drinking to be your designated driver. It’s not worth you taking your life or an innocent victim like Hannah! Too many families have to live a life sentence of not being able to see their loved one.”
- Charlene & Everett Brown -
We dedicate the Drive with Aloha mural program to all who have tragically lost a loved one & to the surviving friends & ‘ohana.
Mahalo nui to Charlene & Everett Brown for your bravery & strength to speak to the students & for your activism to stop impaired driving in Maui. During the program, students learn information regarding impaired driving prevention from victims advocates & prevention specialist to empower themselves to spread the message into their community .
Mahalo nui Maui Police Department & Maui Coalition for Drug-free Youth.
Impaired driving crashes & deaths are 100% avoidable; no one should have to bury their children. Please make good choices and stay safe.

❤️ REMEMBER KAI‘O FUKUSHIMA ❤️
Mahalo Baldwin High School!
We dedicate Drive with Aloha murals to all who have tragically lost a loved one & to the surviving friends & ‘Ohana. We have been told by the victims parents & relatives that the sudden, horrific unimaginable death of their children is a life sentence of heartbreak.
Andrea M, mother to Kai’o Fukushima, shares her pain of losing her son to an impaired driver. We honor Andrea for her strength & bravery to relive that heartbreaking moment of losing her son to an impaired driving crash every time she speaks to the community to advocate for sober driving & safe roads.
Student assemblies are a part of the program. Students learn & gain empathy & awareness through the heartfelt victims advocate speakers & the police department. Mahalo nui Maui Police Department for your ongoing support.

Hawaii Partnership to Prevent Underage Drinking (HPPUD) led by Val Mariano of the Department of the Attorney General, E Ola Ma Kapolei, Safe Ride Hawaii & Councilwoman Andria Tupola spoke to students & the Kapolei Community. Our 18th Drive with Aloha Mural is Kapolei High School on O‘ahu Hawai‘i!!!
At the sign painting workshop, students utilized art to express their support for sober living and driving. The process of hand crafting signs is phase 1 of their activation toward impaired driving prevention!
Kapolei High School students and the West O’ahu community take great pride and ownership in the impaired driving prevention mural program as they showed up in the early morning to assist in the set up process of our student painting day.

Close to 75% of the students participated in the painting and mural unveiling Honokaa HS!  Go Dragons!!!
The Honokaa community enjoyed a powerful mural unveiling, lead with an Oli by one of our muralist, Nikki Collins & Hawane Rios.
During the Unveiling ceremony, over 500 students gathered for the  school assembly!  The program was lead by Principal Blanco and  Student Body Vice President with special guest Allen Bartolome, Executive Aide to the County of Hawaii Prosecuting Office to share closing messages about making good choice and impaired driving prevention.
Following the speakers, the students were lead to the football field to be in ceremony during the mural blessing for the vibrant, and collaborative Drive with Aloha installation. Our team was incredibly impressed that many of the Honoka’a High School students joined in chanting the Oli taught to them in grade school by Hawane Rios. It was a very touching moment.
Kapolei HS on O’ahu is next!

🚨 KAILON TYNDZIK needs your help; he is currently in critical condition !!! 🚨 GOFUNDME in Bio!
Unfortunately, on Wednesday, February 12th at approximately 8:30pm, Kailon Tyndzik, who just celebrated his 30th birthday with loved ones, was struck by a reckless driver at high speed & left at the scene. The driver did not render aid & was later arrested on February 14th. The Keep it Flowing team was informed by one of our own members, who was frantic that her family was struck by the driver, no less than a 1/8 of a mile from Kaua’i High School. All while the team is currently painting the Drive with Aloha mural. The suspect has a long history for a variety of crimes & was driving in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods for traffic fatalities.
Thankfully, a witness to the accident called first responders who were on the scene within minutes & Kailon was medivacted to Oahu by 1am the next morning. He’s currently in critical condition, unresponsive & requires a ventilator, but surrounded by loved ones & hearing all our prayers.
Today, the Keep it Flowing Team is working on their 10th Drive with Aloha Mural in PRAYER with hopes of full recovery of Kailon Tyndzik. Please support Kailon Tyndzik’s Ohana with prayers & by supporting the GoFundMe: “Give back to Kailon who has given to ALL!” Link in bio…
