Omedetou to Chris Iwamura, Shinka’s 2026 Uchinanchu of the Year! 💜

As the 3rd generation owner of Rainbow Drive-In, Chris is responsible for leading and all its subsidiaries through his generation and on to the next. He is very passionate about evolving Rainbow Drive-In while not sacrificing the comfort food and nostalgia that guests come to expect. Along with the main location, Chris helps to grow the merchandise store, franchise business, and Hawaii’s Favorite Kitchens. Chris also volunteers his time within the community serving on the Executive Council and Board of Directors for the Hawaii United Okinawa Association. His grandparents, who started Rainbow Drive-In, were proud Okinawans and he looks to honor all they did for him by giving back to a community they loved.

Back by popular demand, we will be having our Family Day with a twist. Join us on Saturday, April 19 at the Hawaii Okinawan Center for an Easter themed day of fun! Doors open at 10 am and event ends at 1 pm. Easter egg hunt times are 10:30 am, 11:30 am, and 12:30 pm!

Kids (and adults) of all ages are welcome! Join us for some fun activities like giant Jenga, bouncy houses, Easter egg hunt, and more! 🐣🌼 Feel free to bring your own refreshments (soft drinks only). 🗣️ VOLUNTEER FLAG HOLDERS AND PARADE MARCHERS NEEDED! 🚨

We are still looking for volunteers to hold flags and march in the Honolulu Festival parade on Sunday, March 9.

What to wear:
👚👕 a HUOA or club shirt with black pants/bermuda shorts
👟 comfortable walking shoes or sandals

⏰ Assembly time: 1530

📍Staging area: Ft. DeRussey (Saratoga & Kalakaua)

🥁 March Time: TBD (waiting to hear back from Honolulu Festival)

Pickup points for shuttle busses will be at:
🚌 Bus 1
1430 p/u: Hawaii Okinawa Center (HOC)
1445 p/u: Pearl City Recreation Center (PCRC)

🚌 Bus 2
1450 p/u: Jikoen Hongwanji Mission

If you plan to arrive in Waikiki on your own, be aware that they usually start shutting down the roads for vehicles around 1530.

We are bringing back our Shinka Family Day with an Easter event this year 🐰🐣💐 Join us for some family fun activities like giant Jenga, luggage tag making, coloring pages, and more. We will also be having a photo booth, bounce house, and of course an Easter egg hunt!

happy holidays everyone! 🎄to get everyone in the holiday spirit, will be hosting their annual 🧸Toys for Tots🚂 mixer & toy drive on Tuesday, December 10 at B Side Lounge + Venue!
