Trees to Seas, Inc.

Trees to Seas, Inc. A nonprofit organization which aims to create community by teaching conservation through participation from the trees to the seas!

Trees to Seas is a non-profit organization that aims to facilitate direct actions by communities concerned with the vitality of coral reefs and their adjacent watersheds. We are based in Honolulu, O'ahu, Hawai'i, where we conduct regular volunteer stream and reef (SCUBA) clean-ups. We also work internationally with regular programs in Belize and Bali, and we are constantly seeking out new opportun

ities to spread awareness of reef conditions throughout the world. In addition, we offer SCUBA certifications through our Certs for a Cause program. Our certification process stresses a knowledge of coral reef ecosystems to prepare our candidates for ecologically based diving. Please contact us at [email protected] for more info on Certs for a Cause.

Join Trees to Seas and the UH Limu Lab for an algae clean up at Makai Pier on March 23rd. The Leather Mudweed is an invasive species that can form thick mats smothering corals and other native limu. We have identified it spreading from the east side of Maki Pier to the south. We invite you to help us remove this algae, learn about native limu and enjoy a morning in the ocean.
Afterwards join us for lunch at Kalihi Beer!

When: Saturday April 22
Where: Magic Island site #40 (Channel side)
What time: 8:00am-12:00pm

Hi Friends, if you didn't get the info earlier it is not too late to join. By land or by sea, we welcome all earth lovers who want to demonstrate their stewardship for our planet. We will be cleaning the shoreline, the park, and the ocean. All ages are welcome. Bring your sunscreen and hat, water and sun protection. If you are diving you will need all your own equipment: Tank, Weight, BC, Reg, Mask and Fins. If you have, please bring mesh bag and cutting devise. Gloves and exposure protection are highly encouraged. If you need ideas where to get equipment Breeze Hawaii, or Hawaiian Diving Adventures are a couple dive shops that rent gear.
Aloha, see you this weekend
